Status: November 2024

§1    Driving on the race track is only permitted during the agreed times of use and via the designated entrances after prior registration with the track management staff in the start and finish building. During construction and set-up times, only limited access to the race track is permitted (maximum speed of 50 km/h and hazard warning lights switched on).

§2     The entire paddock may only be travelled at walking pace (max. 10 km/h). The road traffic regulations apply. Parking in the paddock is only permitted in the designated parking spaces. Any offence will be towed away for a fee.

§3    Unauthorized persons are prohibited from entering the pit lane and all other security areas.

§4    Use of the paddock areas is only permitted as part of events or with the express authorization of the operator. Overnight stays outside of contractually agreed rentals are not permitted.

§5    The use of skateboards and similar means of transport and the use of uninsured means of transport that are subject to insurance under German regulations are prohibited - with the exception of participants' vehicles.

§6    The use of motor vehicles, motorbikes and scooters by children and persons without a driving license is prohibited. Parents are liable for their children.

§7    According to official authorization, it is prohibited to cause noise in the evening or at night between 18:00 and 8:30 (or outside the contractually agreed operating hours). For this reason, it is prohibited to start or run racing vehicles without a road traffic license during the above-mentioned period (engine rest). Infringements will result in criminal prosecution. The same applies to the     operation of music systems. Live music or music performances in e.g. hospitality areas or on show stages are only permitted with the authorization of the operator.

§8    It is not permitted to park or store material or means of transport of any kind in front of the stairwell exits or on the other hatched escape routes in the paddock. The lane running directly behind the pits is a rescue and escape route and must be kept clear. The tail lifts of the team lorries must either be fully lowered or completely closed and must not protrude into the escape route.

§9    All relevant environmental regulations must be complied with. This applies in particular to the regulations on waste disposal, soil and water protection and immission control. Fuels, oil and other environmentally hazardous substances must be handled with the greatest possible care. Spillages must be reported immediately to the track management staff.

§10    Waste must be collected in the containers provided for this purpose. The operator's waste separation system applies. Waste is separated into:

  • Residual waste
  • Used oil and oil-contaminated solids (oil filters, empty oil cans, etc.)
  • Paper / cardboard
  • Food waste

§11    Wastewater may only be discharged into the designated inlets marked in green. No waste water may be discharged into inlets marked in red.

§12    When handling flammable substances (fuel, oil, etc.) and when refueling vehicles, increased caution is required and fire extinguishers must be kept ready. This also applies to the operation of sales and information stands (catering, hospitality, other). Fuels may only be provided and stored in proper containers and in accordance with official regulations; however, a maximum of 200 liters per box or tent.

§13     For environmental reasons, unnecessary energy consumers (lighting, heating, technical equipment, etc.) must be switched off.

§14    The power supply equipment may only be used with the consent of the operator. Commissioning may only be carried out by specialized personnel. The operation of electrical equipment brought onto the premises is subject to the generally recognised rules of electrical engineering (VDE regulations/operating safety regulations). The operation of untested electrical equipment is not permitted. All electrical equipment must be labelled with a test seal. Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG reserves the right to check the test certificates and, in the event of non-compliance, to decommission the electrical system.

§15    All damage to Nürburgring facilities must be reported immediately to the staff of the start and finish area for documentation     purposes. The perpetrator or renter is liable for all damage to the pit facilities, the sanitary facilities and damage in the paddock e.g. holes in the asphalt surface (caused by driving in pegs or other anchoring devices and damage to property), asphalt deformation caused by tire heating tents, cable damage, pipe damage, damage to electrical distribution boards, etc.

§16    Barbecues and open fires are prohibited in the paddock.

§17    Smoking is absolutely prohibited in all buildings. The same applies to the pits, the entire pit lane and the petrol station areas.

§18    All commercial activities in the paddock, such as the sale of merchandising articles or the offering of services, require the approval of the organizer or the race track operator.

§19    The catering rights in the entire paddock area lie with the operator. The sale of food and beverages is therefore generally     prohibited. The operation of hospitality facilities must be agreed before the event.

§20    The distribution of advertising material in the paddock such as flyers, give-aways etc. and the display of products are strictly prohibited.

§21    Animals may not be brought onto the event site. Exceptions to this are assistance dogs with a corresponding entry in their identity card and dogs approved by the organiser, but which must be kept on a lead. Animals of any kind are strictly prohibited on all grandstands of the Grand Prix circuit. Animals of any kind may not be left in vehicles or trailers of any kind on the event site at any time. Should animals be found alone in vehicles/trailers or similar, Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG reserves the right to expel the owner(s)/responsible carer(s) from the grounds.

§22    The race track operator is authorized to exercise domiciliary rights. The instructions of the Nürburgring staff must be followed.

§23    Only residue-free adhesive tape may be used for markings in the pit lane. The applied markings must be removed completely and without residue after the event. The removal of any residue is at the expense of the person responsible. Furthermore, it is forbidden to drill holes in the concrete surface of the pit lane (working lane) or to fasten it by hammering in nails, for example. Any damage repairs shall be at the expense of the person responsible.

§24    Some areas of the site are monitored by video cameras. The video surveillance of the premises serves the purpose of security,     safeguarding domiciliary rights and the prevention and investigation of criminal offences. The relevant areas are marked with a sign.

§25    Workshop tents that are attached to a semi-trailer or truck and have a floor area of more than 75 square meters (the truck or semi-trailer is included in the floor area) are temporary structures within the meaning of the guideline for temporary structures (FlBauR, § 76 Para. 1 LbauO Rheinland Pfalz). This means that if these structures are to be erected at the Nürburgring, they must have a valid construction license or an inspection book and must be registered with the Ahrweiler district administration for approval in good time. The ballasting required for the tent must be provided by the respective tent operator.
