The historic paddock was opened in 1927, together with the race track. It is the oldest surviving pit area around the world. Some years ago, it was restored to its original condition - pits were deconstructed and enamel lamps manufactured according to old documents, while colour mixtures of the past were used to paint the pit walls and metal signs were mounted to mark the pits. At the same time, all modern appliances were banned or hidden.
