WE LOVE THE RING.
The Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG is the operating company of the Nürburgring. It has set itself the task of managing the Nürburgring successfully and sustainably. Its tasks include the economic and operational management, administration and marketing of the entire infrastructure. This includes the race tracks, the buildings and all associated indoor and outdoor areas.
The all-round management of the Nürburgring is carried out by around 200 permanent employees in various areas. These include common departments such as sales and marketing, but also extraordinary departments such as the Nürburgring Driving Academy, which makes the DNA of the Nürburgring tangible in the truest sense of the word. In addition, more than 1,000 temporary staff are employed at the Nürburgring. Here, the range of tasks extends from car park inspector to the so-called "marshal" at the tourist drives.
As the operator of a multifaceted event location, direct exchange and goal-oriented cooperation with many different organisations and event organisers is an important part of the work for the Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG. After all, around 50 public events, 400 corporate events and over 400 driving events have to be successfully realised at the Nürburgring every year.
MISSION STATEMENT: NÜRBURGRING
The Nürburgring is unique in the world as a motorsport and event location, a living myth that fascinates motorsport fans and teams, the automotive industry as well as visitors and companies from all over the world. In the past 90 years, the world’s most demanding race track has evolved. It has become a multi-purpose facility offering numerous options for events of all sizes and formats as well as leisure activities.
Such a portfolio and its targeted further development, based on maintaining and cultivating our powerful brand, require complete professionalism from staff – including self-confidence without arrogance, creative imagination without complacency, tirelessness without breathlessness, and pride without satiety. We want to be excellent in what we do, and we will not be outdone by anyone.
OUR ROOTS, OUR MOTIVATION SINCE 1927
Amid our daily tasks and all innovation and progress, we never forget where we came from. The Nürburgring was opened on 18 June 1927 and has since combined the qualities of the world’s most demanding and legendary race track with those of an economic driver for the entire region. As “economic and promotional institution”, our race track created numerous jobs in an economically weak region characterised by high unemployment even during construction and immediately had a stimulating effect on the Eifel economy. Since the beginning of construction in 1925, up to 3,000 workers put in more than 12 million man hours, thus securing new opportunities to earn money and laying the foundations for our existence today. We were, are and will remain a vital part of the economic region Hocheifel, and we are aware of our significance for the wellbeing of the municipalities and their populations.
The place where we go to work every day is one of the most fascinating, well-known and important places for motorsport in the world. History and stories can be felt everywhere. All of the great racing series and drivers competed here, and some secured their place among the truly great ones for just that reason. To this day, winning a race here remains a goal of every racing driver. We are a living myth with 90 years of turbulent and touching history. We continue to write this history – as a motivated team in which everyone supports each other and in which enjoying our work is essential. What we can achieve together with a smile is more than each of us could accomplish on our own. We are part of the history, the present and the future – day by day. We are the Nürburgring.
IT IS A "GREEN HELL"
“For me, the Nürburgring is the greatest race track in the world. Winning here makes you one of the truly great racing drivers,” Sir Jackie Stewart said on the occasion of our race track’s 90th anniversary. This kind of unconditional attachment to and fascination with the “Green Hell”, as he once called the Nürburgring, is something he has in common with many other “Heroes of the Ring”. Rudolf Caracciola, Alberto Ascari, Juan Manuel Fangio, Niki Lauda, Stefan Bellof, Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher are big names that will not be forgotten but remain part of the myth forever.
OUR CORE: MOTORSPORT - OUR PORTFOLIO: VARIED
Motorsport is our core competency. The Nürburgring stands for the fascination of everything automotive, for maximum performance of man and machine.
However, the fascination with an extraordinary place and its history, with the myth of the Nürburgring, goes far beyond the world of motorsports and thus provides an emotional backdrop also for our other offerings. We are the event location offering “High-speed Meetings right next to the start/finish straight”, “Motorsports Dinners among historical vehicles” and company events with “Adrenaline Experiences,” to name just a few examples.
It is this combination that makes us unique, and it is up to us to further develop this uniqueness day after day. Professional and holistic service is our world, the enthusiasm of visitors and customers our goal. We want to shape instead of react, engineer instead of copy, we want to convince and not cajole. Working at the Nürburgring means being part of the myth and serving the race track and the agreed goals.
OUR INTENTION: A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE
We do not rest on our laurels. We look back with pride on the past and beyond the present to the future, preparing us and our company today for the exciting challenges of tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
We are aware that the future existence of the Nürburgring can, in the long term, only be secured if our company is economically successful. Therefore, our goal is to achieve the best possible profit in all business segments while observing our values, with and for our fans, visitors and customers, for the region, for our Nürburgring.
