The next spectacular race weekend in the ADAC GT4 Germany is just around the corner. From 5 to 7 August, the series will kick off the second half of the 2022 season at the Nürburgring sprint circuit, with 31 sports cars from Aston Martin, BMW, KTM, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and Toyota expected to take part. The largest field of the ADAC GT4 Germany so far in the 2022 season underlines the growing appeal of the series. The title fight in the ADAC GT4 Germany will be just as hot as the expected temperatures in the Eifel. The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 duo Indy Dontje (29/NLD) and Phil Dörr (21/Butzbach, both Dörr Motorsport) will travel to the Nürburgring as championship leaders. Just five points behind, brand colleagues Hugo Sasse (18/Aschersleben) and Mike David Ortmann (22/Ahrensfelde, both Prosport Racing) are in second place. They most recently celebrated a one-two at Zandvoort and also won both races at the Nürburgring in 2021. "Our goal is to fight for the championship lead. Of course, the best way for us to do that is to win races. I have a very good feeling because it can be a super weekend," Sasse is optimistic. "It will also be a very special event for our team Prosport Racing, which is based just a few kilometres away. The team knows every metre at the Nürburgring."

Hendrik Still (35) from Kempenich, who shares a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 from W&S Motorsport with Max Kronberg (35/Berlin), also has a short journey. "I'm looking forward to my home race and of course I know the Nürburgring very well. The layout of the sprint track should suit our Porsche. We had test drives about a fortnight ago and were therefore able to prepare ourselves optimally. I think we are well positioned," said Still. "My personal goal is to take my first pole position in the ADAC GT4 Germany. Top five finishes are possible in the races. Should there be rain, more could well be in it."

From Olpe, east of Cologne, Jan Philipp Springob (21, Drago Racing Team ZVO) is driving to the Ring. "The anticipation for the Nürburgring is always particularly high, of course. Because some friends, family members and sponsors always visit me there. The atmosphere in the Eifel is just great and there are always a lot of spectators on site," explains Springob, who has a new team-mate in the Mercedes-AMG GT4 at the Nürburgring in Robin Falkenbach (20/Niederkassel). "On the sprint track, I particularly like the back part with the left/right corner after the exit of the short approach and the tight chicane. If you hit these well, you can gain a lot of time. The chicane is always a key spot in the races as well."

The usual full field of ADAC GT4 Germany cars will be joined by three more at the Nürburgring as various regular teams further expand their commitments. Prosport Racing will bring a third Aston Martin Vantage GT4 to the grid, Overdrive Racing will field a third Porsche and CV Performance Group will offer a third Mercedes-AMG Series. Back in the ADAC series is Schnitzelalm Racing with two Mercedes-AMGs.
