In the Nürburgring Endurance Series, major events are casting their shadows. The people in charge of the Nordschleife Championship have developed an evident idea for market readiness. The double header, which was recently carried out for the second time, will become the “12 Hours of Nürburgring” next year. Even the date for this NLS season highlight has already been set. The premiere is on 10/11 September 2022 will be, which will also be enriched with an attractive supporting program off the track.

On Saturday and Sunday, a section of six hours is driven, the first leading until dusk. The highlight of it all, however, is the 12-hour rating for the entire weekend. How is this guaranteed? By having Parc Fermé regulations apply after the first part on Saturday. In other words, the cars must not be worked on overnight. The following morning the hunt through the Green Hell continues. This also gives the teams the opportunity to invite sponsors and guests without the previous time pressure to prepare the vehicles.

“Last year, the double header, born out of the corona situation, was a complete success. Everyone involved was enthusiastic, so we had a double event on our calendar this year as well. So we thought: why not a 12-hour race? We would like to use the break on Saturday evening to celebrate together with teams, fans and sponsors. In addition, there should be the possibility of camping at the Nürburgring”, says Christian Stephani, the managing director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG. Ralph-Gerald Schlüter, General Representative of VLN e.V. & Co. oHG, adds: “A particularly atmospheric highlight in the calendar is a significant added value for both spectators and participants. Together with the new scoring mode, which will be introduced in 2022, the ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal race and the 12 hours Nürburgring will be given greater weight. "

There will be a total of eight events in the next year. There are six more races over a distance of four hours on the program. That promises even more breathtaking motorsport in the Nordschleife championship. The old season has not yet ended, but the anticipation for the new season can already be felt.
