Falken is the new partner for legendary Nordschleife signs and high-speed sections

Falken Tyre Europe GmbH and the Nürburgring have entered into a new, far-reaching marketing partnership. The well-known tire manufacturer is intensifying its involvement at the longest permanent race track in the world. In the future, the Falken logo will adorn the 31 signs with the names of the official track sections along the Nordschleife. In addition, a section of the Grand Prix circuit will have a new name: the fast, long stretch on the opposite side of the start-finish straight will now be called the Falkenbogen.

More than a quarter of a century ago, a true crowd-pleaser did its first laps at the Nürburgring. Back then, a Nissan Skyline in striking turquoise-green took to the well-known race track. Since then, numerous successful race cars have sported the distinctive Falken look, making it an iconic vehicle livery of the Green Hell.

Now, Falken Tyre Europe GmbH and Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG are intensifying their relationship with a new, far-reaching marketing partnership. Initially set to last for three years, the partnership will ensure that one of the world's largest tire manufacturers has an even greater presence at the Nürburgring. The Falken logo will now adorn the famous section signs on the Nordschleife. A total of 31 signs announce the upcoming section to drivers over 20.832 kilometers. They bear familiar names such as Brünnchen, Pflanzgarten or Caracciola-Karussell – and in the future they will also bear the Falken logo. In addition to professional racing drivers at major motorsport events, the signs also provide information to many private drivers on the Nordschleife every day – for example, during tourist trips or track days.

Another part of the cooperation is the naming of a section of the Grand Prix circuit. The challenging passage opposite the start-finish straight is now called the Falkenbogen. This full-throttle section, which is located shortly before the end of the 5.148-kilometer lap, regularly provides exciting slipstream duels and spectacular overtaking maneuvers. The name Falkenbogen is now present on the Grand Prix circuit maps and is also mentioned during racing broadcasts. A 240-meter long band of Falken decals is also clearly visible along the track.

Nürburgring Managing Director Christian Stephani is pleased about the new partnership: “Falken is one of the brands in motorsport to which fans have a special emotional connection. Whether as a racing team in long-distance races on the Nordschleife or at events such as the Falken Driftshow at the 24-hour race – Falken stands for passion for motorsport at the Nürburgring. That's why we are very happy about this joint commitment, which makes the Falken brand visible both on the Nordschleife and on the Grand Prix circuit all year round. The high standards of the Nürburgring and Falken brands are an excellent match.”

“The sponsorship of the Nordschleife section signs underlines the long-standing, trusted relationship between Falken and the Nürburgring. We look forward to experiencing further successful years at the Ring, to expanding the history of Falken motorsport and to living up to the official Falken arch from now on,” says Dennis Wilstermann, Assistant Marketing Manager at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH.
