Green light for the construction of a new staff building at the Nürburgring: investment in site development and attractiveness for employees

10.07.2024

On July 15 of this year, the Nürburgring will begin construction of a staff building, which will provide urgently needed living space, particularly in the catering and hotel sector, as well as for temporary employees and long-term interns of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG. While the excavators are now rolling in the first stage, the new building with 30 residential units should be ready for occupancy by the end of 2025.

The Nürburgring operating company is thus taking another important step towards the further development of the Nürburgring as a destination. The construction of the so-called boarding house will create urgently needed, conveniently located accommodation for staff.

The new two-and-a-half-storey building will be constructed harmoniously between Grandstand 13 on the Nordschleife and the Nürburg district. A total of 30 apartments, four of which will be barrier-free, will offer modern living space of up to 40m² per residential unit from 2025. There are also plans for communal areas for waste, bicycles, housekeeping and cellars. Sufficient parking spaces are also planned.

"With this project, we are responding to the acute need for living space - especially for staff in the catering and hotel sector of the Nürburgring hotels and the Nürburgring Holiday Park," explains Ingo Böder, Managing Director of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG. "In addition, as the operating company, we will use apartments for short-term accommodation required by our employees. This includes long-term interns as well as permanent employees who are looking for a temporary solution."

The construction project is being carried out by the renowned company deRocco from Mayen, which once again underlines the economic ties between the Nürburgring and the region.
