GREENLIGHT FOR THE NLS SEASON 2021

27.02.2021

The Nürburgring endurance series will take place as planned in 2021. “This means planning reliability for our teams and a large number of companies around the Nürburgring that live directly or indirectly from motorsport”, says Christian Stephani, Managing Director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG. “Preparations are also running at full speed and we are looking forward to a smooth season as possible.”

The basis for the organization of the events is the NLS hygiene concept, which has been adjusted again compared to last year, and compliance with the Corona Occupational Safety Ordinance. In order to further minimise the risk of infection, access to the paddock will in future be reserved for those who can prove a negative Corona test. The wearing of medical masks (FFP2 or surgical masks) is mandatory in the entire paddock – outdoors and in all rooms. Furthermore, contacts are minimised as far as possible and the corresponding processes are adapted accordingly. Changes to the concept are possible at any time depending on the situation. For the time being, the Corona pit lane is no longer used this year.

The unofficial starting signal for the 2021 NLS season will be given on 20 March at the traditional pre-season test. A week later, on 27 March, the starting lights for the 66th ADAC Westfalenfahrt turned green for the first time. According to the current regulations for sporting events, spectators will not be admitted for the time being in 2021. “Here, we are working together with the Nürburgring to find solutions”, says Stephani.
