Ten additional defibrillators will provide rapid assistance in the event of a medical emergency at the Nürburgring in future. With the automated external defibrillators (AED), anyone can become a lifesaver - even without any previous medical knowledge. Together with experts from the track's own Medical Center, those responsible at the Nürburgring have purchased new devices and selected the appropriate locations. These are marked and clearly visible from a distance. It is another purchase that will benefit the medical equipment at the Ring in the long term.

In the event of a sudden cardiovascular arrest, every minute counts. In the time until doctors and paramedics arrive, first aid on site can significantly increase the victim's chances of survival. The Nürburgring has now equipped itself for precisely this emergency. Ten additional automated external defibrillators (AED) were put into operation by Nürburgring Managing Director Ingo Böder together with the Nürburgring's Medical Officer and Head of the Medical Center, Armin Link.

The modern devices supplement the existing AEDs, meaning that significantly more areas on the Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co KG site are now equipped with the "lifesavers". The new acquisitions are installed in special wall cabinets in many places with public traffic. Some of the defibrillators are located in buildings such as the ring°boulevard or the ring°werk adventure museum. But they can also be found outside, such as in the Grand Prix paddock. Signs make them recognizable from afar. They are also ready for use 365 days a year - regardless of the weather. The externally mounted AED cabinets have a heating plate. This means they are also ready for use in the winter months. 

The commissioning of the AEDs is a further investment in the medical infrastructure at the Nürburgring. It was only in the summer that a state-of-the-art emergency ambulance (NEF) purchased by the DRK district association went into service. Last year, an all-terrain Unimog and a command vehicle were added to the fleet. The vehicles enable a wide range of rescue operations - on the track itself, but also in the villages and communities around the ring. As a modern race track hospital, the Nürburgring Medical Center is staffed with medical personnel every day during the season and is also regularly requested for operations in the region.
