New management - dual leadership at the Nürburgring

08.12.2021

Nürburg. The future management of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG has been established. The operating company of the racetrack is starting the new year with the two leaders: Ingo Böder and Christian Stephani. Both are firmly rooted in the ring and the region. With their in-depth experience in the event and sales sector, they should continue to drive the development of the unique Nürburgring destination. The new management will start work on January 1, 2022.

A stringent further development of the racetrack, the retention of lived values, and the versatile know-how from its own team: with the presentation of its new management, the Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG is setting a clear signal for the future and a proven philosophy. Because despite many external applications for the management position, an internal Nürburgring solution was found in Ingo Böder and Christian Stephani. Both have in-depth knowledge of business and event locations and can therefore tackle current tasks and future projects immediately. This year, Böder took on the role of “Head of Events & Operations” at the racetrack and previously gained 17 years of experience in a managerial role at a large event agency. Christian Stephani has been working in various positions at the Nürburgring for ten years now: eight years in sales for the Nürburgring operating company and since 2019 as managing director of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. He successfully faced the challenges here for two years.

Managing director rooted in the race track and region
Both managing directors grew up not far from the Nürburgring and are rooted in the region. Ingo Böder comes from a place in the Adenau community, Christian Stephani from near Mayen. That is why the Nürburgring has been with them since childhood. The dual leadership will bring their respective core competencies fully into the Nürburgring business in the future. Christian Stephani therefore also takes on the management of sales, Ingo Böder remains responsible for the "Events & Operations" area. With the direct operative involvement of the management, Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG expects even faster and more efficient coordination and decision-making processes. In addition, the contact in the region should continue to be actively lived. The new management team has the best prerequisites for all of this.

Statements:

Ingo Böder, Managing Director Nürburgring:
“I came to the Nürburgring in order to be able to contribute my many years of experience in the event industry. Due to the many event formats that are held here every day, the task not far from my home town appealed to me from the start. From formula training to tourist drives and from the 24-hour race to Rock am Ring, there is a globally unique portfolio and diverse requirements. Now I am looking forward, in the role of managing director and with a strong team at my side, to advance this internationally known location.“

Christian Stephani, Managing Director Nürburgring:
“I have been able to gain experience in various functions at the Nürburgring for over ten years now. As managing director of the Nürburgring endurance series, I was able to get a completely new perspective and gather valuable knowledge. I would now like to contribute this in the interests of the Nürburgring location, our customers and organizers as well as the partners and companies. I look forward to this assignment with enormous motivation.”
