A new contract until 2028: The Nürburgring and ADAC are extending their partnership, thereby creating the long-term basis for a total of ten motorsport formats in the Green Hell. Visitors can continue to look forward to international highlights, historic motorsport and exciting popular and junior series. These include, among others, the International ADAC Truck Grand Prix, the ADAC 1000km race and the Nürburgring Circuit Challenge.
“The ADAC will remain a long-term partner of the Nürburgring as an organizer of motorsport events, and the Nürburgring will remain a reliable constant for the ADAC as a unique motorsport destination and attractive visitor magnet,” explains Ingo Böder, Managing Director of Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG. “By extending the contract until 2028, we are creating planning security for both sides and enabling us to secure the motorsport tradition at the Nürburgring across a range of formats.”
A real fan festival will remain firmly anchored in the Nürburgring calendar. The International ADAC Truck Grand Prix will continue to bring an impressive mix of thrilling XXL motorsport, a colorful paddock, a music festival and a trade fair to the Eifel in the coming years. “The Truck Grand Prix celebrated its premiere at the Nürburgring in 1986. Now it is certain: it will celebrate its 40th anniversary here and also conjure up a great atmosphere for the whole family at the Ring in the following years,” explains Jörg Hennig, Sports Director of ADAC Mittelrhein e.V., who is also responsible for the sporting organization of the Fanatec GT World Challenge race at the Nürburgring. This is also anchored in the new contract.
In addition to modern racing cars, historic vehicles also continue to have a place on the Nürburgring calendar. “Events such as the ADAC 1000km race and the ADAC Nürburgring Classic are tributes to the glorious past of motorsport, which we bring to life. The new contract is an important basis for the continuous development of our events,” emphasizes Henning Meyersrenken, organizer of the two historic motorsport formats. In addition, the ADAC RGB season finale and the Kölner Kurs motorcycle event are included until 2028 from the historic motorsport segment.
The portfolio of grassroots and junior development through to professional sport is also included in the new contract. The Nürburgring Circuit Challenge (RCN) and the regularity test (GLP) will remain an integral part of motorsport on the Nordschleife under the ADAC flag. The ADAC Racing Weekend, the ADAC Westfalen Trophy and the ADAC DMC Race Weekend motorcycle event will continue to be held on the Grand Prix circuit until 2028.
