Thrilling motorsport, open paddock, country festival, truck camp and the largest industry exhibition of the commercial vehicle sector - hardly any other event at the Nürburgring promises visitors as much variety as the 35th edition of the International ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix, which will take place from July 15 to 17.
The focus of the sporting part will be on the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship rounds, where top drivers like Jochen Hahn, Sascha Lenz and Norbert Kiss will engage in a thrilling battle for valuable European Championship points on the legendary Eifel circuit.
The Int. ADAC Truck Grand Prix is one of eight races of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship and, with its mix of motorsport, exhibition and festival, is also the season highlight of the series.
This year, for the first time, race trucks from the French championship (FFSA Championnat de France Camions) will also be competing in the Mittelrhein Cup. A premiere will also be celebrated by the new series for LMP3 and sports prototypes in Germany, Prototype Cup Germany. ADAC has secured the exclusive rights to this series' sprint race for Germany from rights holder Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), the organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
"We're very pleased that it's finally getting underway again after a two-year break. This year's Truck Grand Prix with Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, Mittelrhein Cup and Prototype Cup Germany will make motorsport hearts beat faster. In addition, we have put together an extensive supporting program," says Marc Hennerici, Managing Director of the organizer ADAC Travel & Event Mittelrhein GmbH, looking ahead.
Visitors will have plenty to do away from the race track. Already on Friday, July 15, the ADAC/TÜV Rheinland TruckSymposium and the Goodyear FIA ETRC-Innovation-Talk will take place, two top-class expert discussions, where experts will shed light on current industry topics such as 'Major Challenges for Freight Transport and Logistics - Drivers, Drive Change, Infrastructure' and 'Goodyear FIA ETRC - Platform for Sustainable Technologies in the Transport & Commercial Vehicle Sector'.
A job fair will also be held for the first time to address the issue of the shortage of skilled professional drivers and bring together prospective employers with those interested in the profession. The trade fair in the ring°boulevard is open to the public.
On the other hand, the largest industrial trade fair in the commercial vehicle sector will take place in the Messepark. The most important European truck manufacturers, suppliers and freight forwarders will be presenting themselves to the public on an area of around 10,000 square meters.
Musical highlights await visitors on Friday and Saturday evenings in the Müllenbachschleife, where the country band Truck Stop will be back after a long time. In addition, the Lewinsky Coverband, the Crazy Crocodile Band, Brenner, Jessica Lynn, Nick Walker and Soulmatic will ensure that there is something for the ears. Of course, the perennial favorite Tom Astor, who has been flying the 'Young Eagle' at every County Festival at the Ring since 1986, will not be missing. The motorsport spectacle will again be rounded off with a brilliant fireworks display.
