Anticipation for 2020: Nürburgring announces dates for tourist drives

20.12.2019

If you want to take a lap on the historic asphalt of the Nürburgring, you don't have to be a racing driver. As part of the so-called tourist drives, everyone can experience the fascination of the Green Hell with an own vehicle. The Nürburgring has now announced the numerous dates when the race track will be open to everyone during the coming season. The barriers will open for the first time on the second weekend in March 2020. Also the dates for highlights such as the Green Hell Driving Days are out now, too.

A registered and insured vehicle, a driver's license and the willingness to stick to the road traffic regulations - that's all it takes to drive the Nordschleife or the Grand Prix track during the tourist drives sessions. On more than 170 dates that have now been published for 2020, this will be possible next year. After the start of the tourist season on March 7th and 8th, a first highlight awaits on the following weekend: On Sunday, March 15th, the "long-distance version" will be opened for everyone. This means that the combination of the Nordschleife and the Sprint track can be driven - a special, because rare, opportunity.

The tourist drives will
take place several days in a row during the “Green Hell Driving Days”. In 2020, from 1 to 3 May and from 2 to 4 October 2020, they will be the reason for a short vacation for tourist drivers in the Eifel. Furthermore there are two options on the Easter weekend: the Nordschleife and Sprint track are open on four consecutive days, from Friday, April 10th to Monday, April 13th. In addition, there will be many more dates next year during the week and at the weekend. An overview and further information is available at: www.nuerburgring.de/greenhelldriving
