Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! On March 22 and 23, racing finally returns to the Nürburgring-Nordschleife after the winter break. To kick off the season, the Nürburgring Endurance Series will celebrate its premiere with twelve hours of testing and two races on the Grand Prix circuit. To mark the return of the racing cars after the winter, visitors will have free admission to all open grandstands and spectator areas along the Nordschleife, including the paddock and the ring°werk motorsport experience museum, with free parking included.
Lap after lap: Green Hell to your heart's content
Twelve hours on the Nordschleife - the perfect opportunity for all teams and drivers to get ready for the 2024 season. After all, good preparation and intensive training are the basic prerequisites for success in any sport, including motorsport. All interested motorsport teams, regardless of the racing series, can now register for these test and set-up drives. The special feature: Registration at affordable, fair prices is paperless and uncomplicated via the digital platform onGRID.
For a full nine hours, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Friday, the teams can do their laps to their heart's content on the NES version of the Nürburgring, the 24.358-kilometer combination of Nordschleife and sprint circuit, in order to tune their race cars to the demanding Green Hell and reawaken their reflexes for exciting races. On Saturday, three more hours of driving time are scheduled from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., but then over the Nordschleife and the complete Grand Prix circuit. Practice on the Müllenbach loop should be particularly interesting in preparation for the 24-hour race.
What's more, the teams can also use the Friday for race cab rides, giving them a good opportunity for lucrative events with partners, customers and guests. Racing drivers facing their first season on the unique Nordschleife also have the opportunity on Friday to obtain the DMSB Permit Nordschleife, the full-throttle license for the Green Hell, so to speak.
And ... Action: Two 90-minute races on the Grand Prix circuit
From midday on Saturday, the action switches to the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit, which opened in 1984. Two qualifying sessions and two races, each lasting 90 minutes - with mandatory pit stops for tire and driver changes - ensure compact racing action. There are a number of advantages for teams and drivers when the NES.Prologue takes place on the 5.2148-kilometer Grand Prix circuit instead of the Nordschleife: 120 minutes of driving time including qualifying, attractive entry fees ranging from 400 euros (production cars) to 1. 500 euros (GT3), low-risk opportunity for new drivers under racing conditions, no Nordschleife permit required, full points for the NES annual classification (no registration necessary), no tire restrictions, free choice of tires also in GT3, attractive also for non-NES/NLS teams. is also an opportunity for teams and drivers to get to know the new personnel, especially in race control and scrutineering, as well as the innovative NES regulations. Paperless online entry is already activated for the races via onGRID. In the paddock, with free access for all visitors and guests, all participating teams will have their allocated pit spaces at their disposal. A number of industrial companies will also set up their workshop tents in the paddock and offer their tried-and-tested services.
The Nürburgring Endurance Series will be held on five dates in 2024. Starting with NES.02 on May 3-4, the races will be held in classic style over a duration of four hours on the breathtaking Nordschleife, in combination with the sprint circuit. NES.03 follows on July 5/6, NES.04 from September 13 to 15 and NES.05 on November 8/9.
