The big warm-up for the 24h motorsport highlight

04.05.2022

Last test, first real battle, trial run: At the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers (6 - 8 May), the participants in the big Nordschleife marathon at the end of May will have the last opportunity to bring their competition cars and driver crews to the Nordschleife under competition conditions. Over 90 teams will take the opportunity to prepare intensively for the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring. They will be able to use the track for over eleven hours in the qualifying sessions on Friday and the two three-hour races on Saturday and Sunday alone. In addition, there will be two individual time trials for the separately judged races - this also gives the fans the best opportunity to take another detailed look at their favourites and their performance. Tickets for the ADAC 24h Qualifiers are available in advance from 10 Euros (day ticket Friday). Get it all here: Livestream, tickets and info

An extremely diverse event awaits the visitors at the Ring. The starting field is not only excellently represented in terms of drivers, but also shines with a great variety of brands. In the top category of GT3 vehicles, 30 cars will be jostling for position. In addition to the GT3s from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche, there are also sports cars from Aston Martin, Ferrari and Lamborghini on the grid. Of course, the cockpits will once again be occupied by the crème de la crème of the Nordschleife drivers, including numerous 24h overall winners who are preparing for the marathon on the legendary 25-km circuit. Special attention will also be paid to the SP-X category, in which not only the picture-perfect sports car from Scuderia Glickenhaus will be competing, but also two of the new KTM X-Bow GT2s, which made a strong impression at the last round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) and at times made it into the leading group. The rest of the grid also promises to be exciting, such as the Cup3 class with eleven Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 CS.

The SP3T class, in which a MINI is participating for the first time in ten years, is also exciting: Bulldog Racing is fielding the brand-newly developed racer, which will complete its first race kilometres at the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers. And that's exactly what the weekend is perfect for, because the teams will get plenty of driving time over three days. Already on Friday there will be two two-hour qualifying sessions as well as the top-30 qualifying for race 1. On Saturday, after a short warm-up at noon, the first three-hour race will start at 6:30 pm. On Sunday, after the warm-up, all teams will enter the top qualifying for the first time, where the whole range of racing cars, from GT3 sports cars to the front-wheel-drive Hyundai i30N from the smallest production car class, will show what they can do on two flying laps. From 14:00, the second race of the weekend will get down to business. The sporting programme will be supplemented by a regularity test on the Nordschleife and a performance test of the RCN on the entire circuit on Saturday morning (both lasting three and a half hours each).

For visitors, the weekend at the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers is extremely attractive because there is more time for autograph requests and petrol talks away from the tightly timed schedule of the 24h race. The two pitwalks on Friday evening (19:30 - 21:00) and Saturday evening (22:00 - 23:00) are ideally suited for this, and you are sure to meet one or two drivers there. Anyone who wants to enjoy the long-distance atmosphere at the most beautiful race track in the world is very welcome. Admission around the Nordschleife is free (only parking fees apply). A ticket is required for the paddock and the open grandstands at the Grand Prix circuit. Day tickets are available at fan-friendly prices between 10 Euros (Friday) and 20 Euros (Saturday / Sunday). The "professionals" among the visitors, however, will of course enjoy the whole weekend for 35 Euros. The open parking zones at the Nordschleife may exceptionally be used for overnight stays with the motorhome.
