The DTM at the Ring, 500 racing cars at the Oldtimer Grand Prix, daily fascination and fun during the summer holidays: In August, there are once again numerous highlights for racing fans young and old at the Nürburgring. In addition to the two major events, the DTM (4 - 6 August) and the Oldtimer Grand Prix (11 - 13 August), there is another special highlight: The big Nürburgring Family Day with free admission on Sunday, 20 August. Oldtimer Grand Prix | Friday, 11 - Sunday, 13 AugustBig anniversary of a legendary event: The Oldtimer Grand Prix celebrates its 50th anniversary. And it will be celebrated in style with historic Formula 1 cars, fireworks and a real Le Mans start. Classic car fans can look forward to twelve racing classes as well as fascinating demonstration drives. All in all, the organisers expect around 500 historic racing cars to be present at the weekend - including legends from Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar, Aston Martin and many others. Formula cars and touring cars from different eras can be marvelled at on and off the race track. As well as racing cars that are around 100 years old, which are only rarely seen at racing events. Tickets entitle the holder to access all grandstands and the paddock and are available from 35 euros. Nürburgring Family Day | Sunday, 20 AugustA highlight of the summer holidays is the Nürburgring Family Day, which will take place for the first time on Sunday, 20 August, with free admission. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., numerous children's attractions await in the ring°boulevard - for example, rides on a mini Grand Prix track, a bouncy castle, free candyfloss and much more. In addition, all visitors can visit the Nürburgring Museum ring°werk and the BMW M-Power Grandstand free of charge. Also on the programme: TikTok and Youtube star Jannik Freestyle, who will be performing his famous football tricks. At the family festival organised in cooperation with the Rhein-Zeitung, the mascots will also be right up front. The Nürburgring fox "Legend" and the Rhein-Zeitung bee "Summi" will be available for souvenir photos. On the first weekend in August (4 - 6 August), the DTM will be at full throttle at the Nürburgring. 27 drivers will fight for important championship points with their GT3 cars on the sprint version of the Grand Prix circuit. The leading team also has the shortest journey: The Nürburgring-based Manthey EMA Porsche ranks at the top of the standings with its driver Thomas Preining and 88 points. In addition to the action on the track with two main races on Saturday and Sunday, fans can also look forward to an attractive supporting programme. > more info & tickets While the colourful field of the DTM will be battling it out for the winner in the one-hour races, the spectators can look forward to an especially large number of adrenalin moments. This is because the 3.6-kilometre short sprint version of the Nürburgring's Grand Prix circuit guarantees that the Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche cars will be thundering past the grandstands particularly often. The fuel thus makes a significant contribution to C02 reduction. With BWT, the ADAC is consistently continuing the path it has taken to avoid plastic waste. In its 39th year, the DTM will be held under the umbrella of the ADAC for the first time. The change at the top brings with it a number of innovations in the sporting regulations that make the racing even more attractive and transparent for spectators. In addition, the DTM will become more sustainable: from this season onwards, the popular racing series will rely on an innovative fuel, thus underlining its pioneering role in worldwide motorsport. In addition, with the Circuit Zandvoort, the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and the Sachsenring, three race tracks will again be on the tour calendar, which were the venues for the last DTM rounds five, eight and 21 years ago, respectively. New sustainable fuelFor the first time, all DTM cars will be running on Shell's innovative fuel this season, which consists of about 50 per cent regenerative components and thus makes a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions. Thanks to the partnership with the world-renowned water treatment company BWT, the entire DTM will be equipped with water dispensers. These will be provided for the teams both in the pits and in the team hospitality areas. Additional BWT water dispensers will also be placed in the DTM Media Centre, in the Race Control and the ADAC Members' Lounge as well as in the TV compound and at the Pirelli tyre service. In the paddock, four BWT Water Stations will also ensure free access to BWT water products for all visitors. New points systemA new points system will provide additional excitement in the fight for the DTM title, as the top 15 of each championship round will receive points instead of the top ten as before. The winner collects 25 points, second place 20 points. Third place on the podium is rewarded with 16 points, fourth place earns 13 points. From fifth place (11 points) onwards, there is one point less for each position up to 15th place (one point). This means that more than 50 per cent of the 28 starters can finish in the points. Tyre sets from new partner PirelliThis season, the DTM will start with tyres from premium manufacturer and Formula 1 supplier Pirelli. The top five on the grid have to start the respective race with the four tyres with which they achieved their fastest lap time in the corresponding qualifying session. The Balance of Performance is based on Pirelli's tyres and is run this season by SRO Motorsport Group, the ADAC's long-standing partner. "Milder" penalty: Penalty lapIn future, minor offences in the DTM will be punished with a penalty lap. For this purpose, a penalty zone will be set up on each track. The DTM drivers have to drive through this defined area at a maximum speed of 50 km/h and lose almost five seconds due to this somewhat "milder" penalty. In addition, the penalty lap ensures clear conditions on the track instead of adding time penalties to the overall time at the end of the race. Compulsory pit stop within 20 minutesTyre changes are a race-deciding factor in the DTM - the time window for this will be reduced from this season onwards and will provide more clarity for the fans. The performance pit stop must be completed between the 20th and 40th minute, there is no minimum standing time. All four tyres of a vehicle must be changed. The race director can shift the time window if there is a safety car deployment or a full-course yellow phase before or during the pit stop. Family-friendly pricing modelTickets for a DTM weekend are on average ten to 20 Euros cheaper this season than last year and available from as little as 39 Euros on dtm.com. Team Scherer PHX is fielding no fewer than four Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II cars in the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring, two of which even enjoy the accolade of an official Audi Sport Team. While Frederic Vervisch (BEL), Mattia Drudi (ITA), Ricardo Feller (SUI) and Dennis Lind (DEN) will be competing as defending champions in car number #1, a very special "boy group" will be turning the wheel in the sister car #40. Because the names of the drivers feel like a little trip back in time: Mike Rockenfeller, Timo Scheider (both Switzerland) and Martin Tomczyk (Kolbermoor) are celebrating a small "revival" here. Their Scherer PHX team emerged this year from the merger of the Phoenix team, which was accustomed to success, with the up-and-coming team from Scherer Sport. Rockenfeller, Scheider and Tomczyk are thus returning to the Nürburgring-Nordschleife under new auspices after a few years' break. "Mike came up with the idea and asked if we wanted to do something together," says Scheider, explaining how the project came about. The three racing icons are united by one characteristic: "We are all three DTM champions and have raced at Phoenix." One team, three drivers, four DTM titlesAll the drivers closely link their DTM history with Phoenix Racing. Rockenfeller secured the series title in 2013 together with the team from the Eifel. Martin Tomczyk surprised everyone in 2011 together with Phoenix Racing when he won the overall classification in a one-year car. The following year, the man from Rosenheim switched to BMW. Since this year, Tomczyk has now been team manager at Abt Sportsline. "For the 24h Qualifiers and the 24h Nürburgring, I have taken myself out of the operational business," he reports. "You can only do one thing 100 per cent. For me, this project has priority now." Timo Scheider also competed in the DTM together with Phoenix. However, he secured his two titles in 2008 and 2009 together with Abt Sportsline. In return, he won the 24h Nürburgring together with Phoenix in 2003 - at that time still with Opel. Mike Rockenfeller also knows the feeling of being the overall winner on the podium at the 24h Nürburgring. However, he drove a Porsche in 2006. Tomczyk is still waiting for a success in the legendary Green Hell. He finished the 2021 24h race in second place. Having fun with ambitionsWith such a sporting CV, it is obvious that the three top pilots have set themselves ambitious goals for the mission. However, that could be difficult in 2023. "2021 was the last time I was on the Nordschleife in a VLN race," Rockenfeller told us at his start in the 24h Qualifiers. "But it's been a few years since I consciously remember taking part in a 24h race." Tomczyk also used the Qualifiers to get used to the Audi. "The switch from the BMW to the Audi is already big," he reports. "I haven't driven the Audi R8 yet either. But the car feels good and it gives confidence." Scheider last took part in a race on the Nordschleife four years ago. The former DTM champions are supposed to be all about having fun, but they still can't quite get out of their skin. "We want to have fun and when we have fun we are probably fast," Scheider clarifies. "But we are still racing drivers and want to be successful. We could live well with a place in the top 10, top five would be great, a podium incredible." At the ADAC 24h Qualifiers, the trio were already well on their way: they finished the two-hour race on Saturday in fourth place and the 4h race on Sunday in ninth.

The DTM is all set for the 2023 season. A new era under the aegis of the ADAC will start at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 26th to 28th May. Fans of the globally popular racing series can look forward to seeing a spectacular field in sports cars from premium manufacturers Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche. A total of 28 drivers and 14 race teams are ready for the 37th season. “We are all set for the first season of the DTM under the ADAC umbrella. For the first time, the race cars will be using environmentally friendly, innovative fuel from Shell, 50 percent of which consists of renewable components. Water dispensers in the paddock will provide fresh, chilled drinking water at DTM events. Spectators at the eight DTM events in Germany, the Netherlands and Austria will benefit from a more attractive pricing system. The ADAC has developed a structure to reduce the price of DTM tickets by up to 20 Euro on average. Admission tickets are already available at dtm.com from 39 Euro. It's finally starting again - under the new claim "we make your heart race", the Nürburgring is entering the new event season. Great emotions await professionals, amateurs and spectators at around 50 events from the genres of motorsport, music and sport. Highlights include the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring and the 12h Nürburgring of the Nürburgring Endurance Series as well as the 50th anniversary of the Oldtimer-Grand-Prix, the mega festival Rock am Ring or sporting events such as Rad am Ring or the Hotfoot Run. And even beyond the events, there will again be an extensive range of leisure and adventure activities. As usual, the Nürburgring Endurance Series will do the honours for the season premiere in 2023. On 18 March, the lights will turn green for the first time. The NLS will shake the Green Hell a total of eight times. On the combination of sprint track and Nordschleife, the large field of starters in the Green Hell will once again be at full throttle - with the entire automotive diversity from near-series racing cars to full-blown GT3 bolides. The highlight of the NLS season will again be the 12h Nürburgring from 8 to 10 September. Here, even the complete version of the race track - including the entire Grand Prix Track - will be driven. The fans know the same track variant at the motorsport highlight of the season. After a veritable fan festival with 230,000 visitors, the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Race from 18 to 21 May once again invites to a gigantic horsepower party. Race teams from all over the world, a tough race on the most demanding race track in the world and the unique atmosphere around the track are expected: drivers and fans alike are looking forward to the camping and campfire atmosphere. A foretaste of the endurance classic is already available in April - on 22 and 23 April, the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers will get underway. 50th Anniversary of the Oldtimer-Grand-PrixFans of historic vehicles will also get their money's worth this year - even with a big anniversary. The Oldtimer Grand Prix (11 - 13 August) is turning 50! As one of the most traditional festivals for traditional vehicles in Europe, it is once again the highlight of the historic motorsport season in Germany. In addition to an outstanding starting field with vehicles from the entire history of the Nürburgring, fans can look forward to a fan world around the Grand Prix circuit. Those who want to experience even more time travel is in the right place at the Nürburgring. In addition to the DTM, fans will also experience the racing action of the ADAC GT Masters at four events and exciting rounds of the ADAC GT4 Germany at six events. In addition, the Prototype Cup Germany will be on the grid three times. The BMW M2 Racing Cup and the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland are also an integral part of the DTM programme.

The DTM lines up with a top-class field in 2023. A total of 13 teams with six different manufacturers will contest the 35th season of the DTM, which will be promoted by the ADAC for the first time. Teams will go in pursuit of the title with cars from Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche when the season gets underway from 26th to 28th May. Fans can look forward to new models from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. Thanks to the ADAC, the topic of sustainability will play an important role in the DTM: from this year, all the cars will run on a sustainable fuel from Shell, which is made from 50% renewable components. ProSieben will continue to broadcast all the races, on the Saturday and the Sunday of race weekends, live and in full on free-to-air TV. The champion team from the 2022 ADAC GT Masters, Emil Frey Racing, are set for their DTM debut with the brand-new Ferrari 296 GT3. Lamborghini is also represented by the GRT Grasser Racing Team and SSR Performance. Both teams line up with the latest GT3 model, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2. Mercedes-AMG Team HRT, the team that won last year’s ADAC GT Masters, and DTM newcomers Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf and Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD will fly the flag for Mercedes-AMG. Completing the high-class DTM field are three Porsche teams with the newly-developed 911 GT3 R: Manthey EMA returns to the DTM, Toksport WRT is set to make its debut, and KÜS Team Bernhard represents Porsche for the second year. TV partner ProSieben will again show all 16 races live on free-to-air TV. As well as the races, fans can also watch the battle for grid positions in qualifying live at ran.de. The ADAC GT Masters will start the 2023 season with the proven concept, events with strong attendance, a prize money pot filled with more than 570,000 euros and the successfully established sustainable fuel. Six race weekends with two races each in Germany and Austria are planned, with the series returning to the Norisring in Nuremberg for the first time in 15 years. All races will be shown live on free TV. The season will start from 9 to 11 June at a "special event" in Hockenheim. Sustainability also plays a decisive role in the new season in the ADAC GT Masters. For the second year in a row, the ADAC GT Masters will be running on the innovative Shell Blue-Gasoline 98 fuel, which consists of around 50% renewable components. Last year, the drivers completed 10,971 race laps with the sustainable fuel, making an important contribution to CO2 reduction. ADAC Head of Motorsport Thomas Voss: "The ADAC GT Masters will continue to compete in 2023 with the concept that has been thrilling fans for 16 years now. We will no longer pursue the plans presented in December with joint races of the ADAC GT Masters and prototypes. This is in line with the wishes of many teams to continue the ADAC GT Masters in its unchanged form. On the sporting side, however, we are sharpening the profile of the series by making a driver with a silver or bronze classification compulsory in every car in future. This will ensure that the ADAC GT Masters remains an attractive platform for talent hungry for success." The calendarThe season opener will take place at a special event from 9 to 11 June at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, with more information to follow shortly. One of the season's highlights already follows on the second race weekend: With the return to the Norisring, the series will contest the first of a total of four events at the DTM on the streets of Nuremberg. After the Norisring, the ADAC GT Masters will once again be a guest at one of Germany's biggest motorsport events: for the first time since 2012, the series will compete at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. After the summer break, the drivers will face the Sachsenring challenge in September. Afterwards, the mountain calls: for the penultimate stop of the season, the participants travel to the current Formula 1 circuit of the Red Bull Ring. The finale will take place at the end of October together with the DTM as usual in Hockenheim. The sporting alignmentIn the ADAC GT Masters, two drivers will continue to share a cockpit. Starting this year, a silver-rated driver or a bronze-rated driver is compulsory in each car. Thus, the ADAC GT Masters remains true to its philosophy of optimally promoting young talent and giving young talents the chance to develop in a professional environment. Good performances and successes are rewarded: In the new season, participants will be competing for cash and non-cash prizes worth more than 570,000 euros. In addition to the driver and team classifications, the Pirelli Junior classification for young talents and the Pirelli Trophy classification for ambitious gentlemen will be announced. Teams can register for the ADAC GT Masters 2023 from 25 January, the closing date for entries is 1 May.
