With the current season still in full swing at the Nürburgring, the race track and event location is already giving a preview of the coming year. From international highlights to event exotics and from motorsport to entertainment, the 2025 calendar once again promises the unique Nürburgring mix. A current overview: Exciting motorsport highlights in the Green HellNaturally, the world's longest permanent race track is also characterised by an attractive motorsport calendar in 2025. Particularly popular with fans: endurance motorsport on the Nordschleife. The highlight is the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring, which will once again put man and machine to the ultimate test from 19 to 22 June 2025 and promise a gigantic motorsport party together with tens of thousands of fans. As usual, the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) will kick off the motorsport year. After the first race on 22 March, eight more race days will follow until October, each of which usually falls on a Saturday. Only on 13 and 14 September are two race days scheduled on one weekend for the NLS and therefore also the only race Sunday in the series. The dates of the Nürburgring Rundstrecken Challenge (RCN) are another Nordschleife format on the calendar. Regularity and performance tests offer popular sport from road-legal to race-ready vehicles. From GT3 to XXL: thrilling motorsport from racing cars to race trucksFans of thrilling motorsport will once again get their money's worth on the Grand Prix circuit. The giants of motorsport will compete against each other on the sprint version of the International ADAC Truck Grand Prix from 10 - 13 July. Every year, the event delights visitors with a family-friendly concept of motorsport, festival, colourful paddock and trade fair. Included in the supporting programme: the ADAC GT Masters. The Fanatec GT World Challenge (29 - 31 August) and the Porsche Sports Cup (30 May - 1 June) will feature high-quality racing cars from the world's best-known automotive brands. The Nürburgring Drift Cup, which will host its first round on 26 and 27 April, and GRIP - the motor event that will attract the tuning community to the Eifel on 6 July, are also high on horsepower and, above all, action-packed drifting. The date for the DTM at the Nürburgring has already been finalised. However, fans will have to wait a little longer before the announcement. The racing series will present its annual calendar in the coming days. Experiences with music and muscle powerAway from the roaring sounds of engines, powerful guitar riffs await at the beginning of June. Rock am Ring will get visitors' hearts racing from 6 to 8 June. According to the recently published first wave of bands, ‘Slipknot’ and ‘Bring me the Horizon’ have already been confirmed as headliners for the festival's 40th anniversary alongside other well-known bands. A similar-sounding event name, but with a completely different intention, can be found in the 2025 calendar with Rad am Ring. In mid-July, thousands of tireless participants will once again take to the start line to conquer the Green Hell with their own muscle power. Incidentally, this is also required for the Hotfoot Run - but not on two wheels, but on foot. The obstacle course takes place on 10 May. Fast-paced PS classics in racing actionThe heroes and automotive jewels of days gone by have also once again secured several permanent places on the Ring calendar. Old and youngtimers and memories of many decades of motorsport will be brought to life on the Grand Prix circuit and the Nordschleife. The Nürburgring Classic will kick off 2025 from 13 to 15 June. This will be followed in August by the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix (1st - 3rd) and the legendary ADAC 1000km race from 20th to 21st September. The ADAC RGB season finale, the ADAC Westfalen Trophy and, last but not least, the Kölner Kurs as a historic motorbike event round off the historic programme. Motorbike service and racing on two wheelsSpeaking of motorbikes: after returning to the Nürburgring this year, the International Motorcycle Championship (IDM) is also on the calendar for the coming season. From 5 to 7 September, the series will kick off with thrilling two-wheel racing. There will be impressive pictures of thousands of motorbikes off the racing line at the ‘Anlassen’ motorbike service on 27 April. One of the highlights of the programme: the joint parade around the legendary Nordschleife. Diverse indoor events: entertainment away from the racetrackThe Nürburgring also continues to see a steady increase in events away from the tarmac. And so the 2025 season in the Green Hell starts and ends with indoor events throughout the year. The International Rhine Shiai Karate Tournament will kick off the season on the second weekend in January, while the German Carnival Garda Dance Championship will be the event finale in December. Both events will take place in the ring°arena, as will two cheerleading competitions on 15 and 16 February and the ‘Darts am Ring’ gala in March. The latter is set to become the undisputed fan magnet in the indoor calendar with over 3,000 fans expected. The exact date for the flying darts event will be announced shortly. Further music and entertainment formats at the Nürburgring venues are also scheduled for next year. Comedy at NightWash live, the Nürburgring Family Day and a colourful afternoon at the Disney Channel cinema have been decided for 2025 and will soon be added to the calendar.

The week before, the Nürburgring Classic (May 24 - 26) invites you to a three-day celebration of historic motorsport. Two-wheeler fans will get their money's worth with the motorcycle double-header of the ADAC DMC Race Weekend (May 9 - 11) and the Cologne circuit (May 12). Many of them pitch their tents right next to the track and celebrate the biggest racing party of the year. While modern machines conquer the Eifel circuit at the Race Weekend, racing motorcycles from past eras take to the track at the Cologne circuit. Large starting fields and challenging endurance races alternate with entertaining program items at the ADAC DMC Race Weekend. In the Scooter Cup, for example, iconic scooters do their laps on the Ring at two and four engine speeds. The sidecar teams at the Cologne circuit are also very popular. In addition to the acrobatic two-man motorcycles, spectators can look forward to many other historic racing machines on that Sunday. NES.02: Walkenhorst Motorsport with a large contingent at the four-hour race

30.04.2024

Three beefy GT3 racing cars from Aston Martin, plus a BMW and a Hyundai - Walkenhorst Motorsport will be competing in the four-hour Nürburgring Endurance Series (NES) race on May 4 with a large contingent of five racing cars. “For us, this race is the ideal opportunity to prepare for the 24-hour race,” says Team Principal Niclas Königbauer. After all, NES.02 not only includes qualifying and the race (start: 12:00 noon) on Saturday, but also nine hours of testing on Friday. The team from Melle near Osnabrück, which is managed by Henry Walkenhorst, Niclas Königbauer and Jörg Breuer, is one of the most high-profile German racing teams with national and international successes, including many victories on the demanding Nordschleife.  Brand mix: three Aston Martin, one BMW and one Hyundai Many things are different for Walkenhorst Motorsport this season. As the new entry team for the glorious British sports car brand Aston Martin, Walkenhorst is fielding three new Aston Martin Vantage GT3s and will be racing them both at NES.02 on the first weekend in May and four weeks later at the 24-hour race. The team is also fielding a BMW M4 GT4 with mainly up-and-coming young racing drivers and a Hyundai i30. The Hyundai is a so-called “permit car” with slightly less power, with which Nordschleife rookies can acquire the two-stage “DMSB Permit Nordschleife”, effectively the “full throttle license” for the Green Hell. Walkenhorst Motorsport was already involved in the NES.01 test and set-up runs at the end of March. “That was the first time we had driven an Aston Martin on the Nordschleife,” reports Königbauer. “We got into a good rhythm and were able to work specifically on the set-up. Overall, we haven't done that many kilometers with the GT3 yet. Yokohama is also new to us as a tire partner, so we are happy about every opportunity to use them.”  “For us, this race is the ideal opportunity to prepare for the 24-hour race” Niclas Königbauer, Team Principal Walkenhorst Motorsport International driver line-up - sights set on further Nordschleife outings“A new partnership is always exciting,” says Königbauer about the collaboration with Aston Martin. “The further developed Vantage has the best prerequisites for fast lap times and maximum reliability, the package works well.” Walkenhorst Motorsport's Pro program, which is run in coordination with Aston Martin, ends with the 24-hour race in 2024. “But even after that, we want to contest more races on the Nordschleife,” says the team boss. “Our initial focus will be on NES.02, then the 24-hour race, and then we'll look further.” As far as the driver line-up is concerned, the Pro car will probably be driven by works driver Nicki Thiim (DEN) and the two Nordschleife experts Christian Krognes (NOR) and Kuba Giermaziak (POL). For the other two Aston Martin cars, team principal Henry Walkenhorst and fellow Germans Stefan Aust, Christian Bollrath and Anders Buchardt can be counted on in one Vantage, with US driver Chandler Hull and Germans Patrick Assenheimer, Benjamin Mazatis and Mike David Ortmann in the other. “It is not yet clear whether all of them will drive in NES.02. Some have already had enough driving time, so we will probably have three drivers in each of the three cars,” says Königbauer.  More information about the Nürburgring Endurance Series can be found on the official website www.nes.de.

The countdown is on: Four-hour race for the NES starts on May 04

23.04.2024

The countdown is on: On May 4th, the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NES) will host its first four-hour race on the world-famous Nordschleife. The organizing team of around 500 people, from the sports marshals around the circuit to the race director, is well prepared for this premiere. The race will take place on the Nürburgring's challenging 24.358-kilometer track combination, consisting of the Nordschleife and the shortened Grand Prix circuit. At 12 noon on Saturday, May 4, the red lights on the starting grid will go out and the field of GT sports cars and touring cars will tackle the four-hour endurance race. “Safety is the top priority in motorsport! That's why manning the entire race track with trained and experienced marshals is our top priority,” explain Oliver Damas and Vincent Simon from the NES marshal coordination team in unison. “We would like to thank all the stewards who are available for this demanding task and the German Motorsport Association (DMSB) for their support.” Dress rehearsal for the 24-hour classic: NES.02 with plenty of track time For the teams and their racing drivers, NES. 02 on May 3 and 4 is the final opportunity to prepare for the 24-hour classic, which takes place four weeks later, under competitive conditions. To this end, NES.02 offers plenty of “track time”, i.e. driving time on the demanding uphill and downhill track in the middle of the Eifel. On Friday, the race track will be open for test drives from 9:00 to 18:00, during which so-called race taxi drives can also be carried out. There will also be the opportunity to complete the DMSB Permit Nordschleife course, the full-throttle license for the Green Hell, so to speak. On Saturday morning between 08:30 and 10:00, the starting positions will be allocated in qualifying. The start of the four-hour race will finally take place at 12:00, so that the chequered flag will fall at 16:00. > Tickets are available here.

A look at the provisional list of participants for the two test days will make the hearts of racing fans beat faster. The field includes impressive GT3 and GT4 racing cars from Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and Toyota as well as the striking KTM X-BOW, numerous Cup cars from the Porsche and BMW camp and more compact touring cars such as the Hyundai i30N, MINI JCW and BMW M2 CS. The Jung Motorsport team is fielding two Cupra Leon cars. "These are cars that we have completely rebuilt over the winter," explains Team Principal Tobias Jung. "It's always an exciting feeling when you take the cars onto the Nordschleife for the first time." The participants will also be able to take on the newly asphalted Fuchsröhre section of the track for the first time. A total of 4,000 tons of new asphalt were laid in the fast passage during the winter. A new kerb has already caused some discussion in the relevant networks over the past few days, and now the lines can also be tested in the race car.  Beitske Visser (NED) and Fabienne Rosa Wohlwend (LIE) in the BMW M4 GT4, Jasmin Pawlowitz (GER) in the GT4 Audi R8 and Jasmin Preisig (SUI) in the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 will also be involved in the intensive testing.  From the glacier to the Green HellRed Bull Team ABT presented its Lamborghini Huracán for the new season in the Tyrolean glacier village of Hochgurgl at the beginning of the week. The Italian racer will be racing in the Green Hell at the NES Prologue. "It's finally starting again," says driver Jordan Pepper. "The Nordschleife is pure goosebumps! There's nothing like it anywhere else in the world! So I'm really looking forward to it, we're ready." There will also be a premiere for Walkenhorst Motorsport, which is entering an Aston Martin for the first time after many years with BMW. The drivers are delighted, including veteran Frank Stippler, who will be competing in an Audi from the Scherer Sport PHX team: "It is always an enormous privilege to be able to drive on the most beautiful race track in the world. This is true in general, but even more so after the long winter break. That's why I'm delighted that we're finally back on track!" Maro Engel, who will be competing for Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed, also makes no secret of his anticipation: "I can hardly wait to finally complete the first Nordschleife laps again. The restart is something very special every year because the track is simply incredible. We certainly have a lot of work ahead of us this time, as we have a new tire to get used to, for example. But I'm looking forward to finally getting started again together with everyone."
