There will be a brand-new event for tourist drivers and car enthusiasts during the Green Hell Driving Days, thrilling races on the legendary Nordschleife in the Nürburgring Endurance Series and the 24h Qualifiers, a running anniversary at the Hotfoot Run, and a wide range of motorsport on the Grand Prix circuit. In May, the Nürburgring will once again show its versatile side. The third race of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie promises another diverse field of starters. From lightning-fast GT3 cars to production-based touring cars, everything will be represented this Saturday. For over four hours, professionals and amateurs will battle it out for position on the combination of the sprint version of the Grand Prix circuit and the Nordschleife. Spectators can follow the action from the open grandstands or visit the popular sections of the track along the Nordschleife. The ticket for €25 (children under 14 free) includes access to all spectator areas, the paddock, and the starting grid before the race. The format of the qualifiers is intense: after setup runs on Friday, there are two separate four-hour races on Saturday and Sunday, which again count towards the Nürburgring Endurance Series standings. The first ADAC Ruhrpott-Trophy takes place this Saturday, April 26, 2025. The event, organized by ADAC Westfalen and MSC Ruhr-Blitz-Bochum, marks the second of ten rounds in the 2025 ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. The race lineup is literally a full house of aces and kings—the preliminary entry list features 140 entries. And there’s more than just the race to talk about: a variety of topics deserve more than a footnote. The support program also impresses with auto and youth kart slalom, offering variety and entertainment. Tickets for the race are available from €25 at VLN.de/tickets. Admission is free for children up to 14 years of age. For those unable to attend in person, the entire race day will be livestreamed here. Cars from 16 different manufacturers will be driven by 357 drivers from 28 nations, including 17 super sports cars in the GT3 SP9 class. Two teams will be entering the "top class" of NLS for the first time this year. Scherer Sport PHX, which has achieved numerous successes with Audi in recent years, is fielding a Porsche 911 GT3 R for the first time. “Entering the top class with a new brand is a challenge we gladly accept,” says team boss Ron Moser. “We’ve put a lot of work into preparing our team for the 911 GT3 R. NLS2 is the next step, where we’ll face competition for the first time. The car will compete on the Nürburgring Nordschleife powered by synthetic gasoline made from methanol. This fuel is produced as part of the DeCarTrans project, a research initiative at TU Bergakademie Freiberg supported by the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport. The fuel belongs to the eFuels category and can be used in existing combustion engines without modifications (drop-in). Based on the Clubsport race car used in GT4 series worldwide, the 'M' model features lightweight construction and optimized aerodynamics. Manthey is using recycled CFRP components from a pre-development project with Porsche Motorsport for testing. “Motorsport and sustainability are not mutually exclusive – and together with Manthey, we’re taking the next step this year. This year, Robert Wickens is trying again—because giving up is not an option for him. The 36-year-old Canadian, best known to German fans from his DTM years as a Mercedes-AMG works driver, has been paraplegic since an IndyCar crash in 2018. What a start to the 49th season of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie: Falken Motorsports celebrated a double victory right at the opening round. Sven Müller and Morris Schuring were waved off in the Porsche 911 GT3 R with a lead of 3.068 seconds ahead of their teammates Dorian Boccolacci and Nico Menzel. But that wasn’t all, as in the end, four sports cars from Zuffenhausen occupied the top positions. The success for Porsche was completed by Ayhancan Güven and Thomas Preining in the 'Grello' from Manthey-Racing, as well as Matteo Cairoli and Bastian Buus in the Dinamic GT Porsche. Around 7,000 spectators attended the 70th ADAC Westfalenfahrt, visiting the grandstands, the paddock, and the exclusive spectator zones at the Nordschleife. Only once in the history of the traditional racing series have more tickets been sold on a single race day. Interest from fans was also high at the free Nordschleife spots for the first race of the season. The first surprise of the day came from Frank Stippler in qualifying: in the Audi R8 LMS from JUTA RACING, he secured the team's first pole position, setting a time of 7:51.530 minutes, driving for the team built around the ambitious amateur drivers 'SELV' and Alexey Veremenko. A colorful brand mix followed in qualifying on the other positions: the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 from Walkenhorst Motorsport, the McLaren 720S GT3 Evo from Dörr Motorsport, the Ferrari 296 GT3 from REALIZE KONDO RACING with Rinaldi, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 from Red Bull Team ABT, the two Mercedes-AMG GT3s from Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed, and the BMW M4 GT3 from ROWE RACING. The Israeli contested the race solo with the vehicle he had built himself over the past six weeks. He wasn’t discouraged by setbacks during the race. A crash was repaired during the race by Sorg Rennsport, who support the vehicle on-site, and a tire failure in the final stages also didn’t stop Gott from being classified fourth in his class. "Normally, I want to be honored when I win," said Gott. "Today, many things didn’t go perfectly – but I still wanted to continue. Being recognized for that does make me a bit proud." The decision on the 'Driver of the Race' is made jointly by the NLS race management, ILN driver committee, and the track announcer. The trophies are donated by the Interessengemeinschaft Langstrecke Nürburgring (ILN). The first victory in this year’s newly created BMW 325i Challenge by Goodyear went to Jonas Spölgen and Eugen Becker. Father and son Bohrer win two races in one dayIn the first race of the new NLS Youth Kart Championship, eight-year-old Jonas Bohrer won his K1 age class. Afterwards, he gave his dad strong support – and dad followed suit confidently. In the NLS race, father Michael Bohrer, together with Gerrit Holthaus in the Hyundai i30N, claimed first place in the VT2-F+4WD class. "A cool and perfect race day," grinned Jonas after the award ceremony, which took place just before the NLS class victory ceremony. In K2, the kart-kids winner was Mick Schmidt (ACV OC Lahnstein), in K3 David Böttcher (MSC Konz), in K4 Florian Rauhe (MSC Adenau), and in K5 Tobias Mosdzen (KSC Wülfrath). Augusto Farfus, 'Jesse Krohn', Raffaele Marciello and Kelvin van der Linde will take the #98 car into the race on Saturday. The BMW M4 GT4 EVO will also make its debut on the Nordschleife in the 2025 season, driven by customer teams. Among those contesting the full season are three influencers, 'Jimmy Broadbent', Steve Brown and '@mgcharoudin', who will be competing for the BILSTEIN by BLACK FALCON team together with Manuel Metzger. “I'm really looking forward to experiencing the EVO versions of our BMW M4 GT3 and BMW M4 GT4 for the first time in an official race on the toughest race track in the world,” says Björn Lellmann, Head of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport. After a three-year break, Black Falcon is also entering a GT3 car in the Nürburgring Endurance Series again for the first time. Daan Arrow, Gabriele Piana, Ben Bünnagel and Mike Stursberg will take turns at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R. The Am quartet will face strong competition from équipe vitesse, JUTA RACING (both Audi R8 LMS) and the Rennazzo Motorsport team led by Thai drift legend Kiki Sak Nana in the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, among others. The GT3 Pro category features both well-known teams and newcomers. Manthey EMA is entering 'Grello', the legendary Porsche 911 GT3 R. Champions go their separate ways The trio of champions from the 2024 season will go their separate ways from now on. Sven Markert will drive the BMW M240i Racing Cup of Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhattan Wheels with starting number #1. Toby Goodman is moving to AVIA W&S Motorsport and will share the cockpit of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS with Moritz Oberheim and Philip Miemois. Ranko Mijatovic will contest the 2025 season together with Tobias Wahl and Nick Wüstenhagen in the FK Performance Motorsport BMW M4 GT4. Ready for a full-throttle 2025: the engines will finally start up at the Nürburgring in March. And once again, the event calendar is full to bursting: 60 events make the Eifel race track a worthwhile destination for many good reasons well into the fall. Racing spectacle, festival summer, comedy evening or family outing: the Nürburgring will make hearts beat faster again this year. They belong to the Ring as much as the champagne shower on the podium: crowd-pullers such as the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the DTM, Rock am Ring, the Truck Grand Prix and the Oldtimer Grand Prix will once again attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Eifel this year. A fast-paced mix that includes around 60 public events between March and November alone. Major events alternate with hands-on motor sports and small after-work pleasures, such as the Nürburgring cycling and running club or the Afterwork Classics. One of the highlights will be the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring. On the Corpus Christi weekend (June 19-22), well over 100 race cars will take on the ultimate challenge: 24 hours non-stop on the most demanding track in the world. A spectacle – also because of its passionate fans. Tens of thousands will be camping along the track, creating the unique atmosphere of the Ring. One new feature this year is a particularly family-friendly camping option in the new Family & Friends area. The second RAVENOL 3h race on Saturday, February 15, will mark the start of the second half of the season of the digital Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. When almost five dozen cars take up the race over the 180-minute distance in the virtual Green Hell at 1 p.m. sharp, excitement is guaranteed, as the decision in the championship is drawing closer. A preliminary decision will not be made, because there are no strike results in the winter season 2024/2025. The digital race day will be livestreamed from 11:30 a.m. on VLN.de. In the overall standings, two teams from SCHERER eSPORT are in the lead. The #116 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and the #269 Renault Clio have each notched up two class wins. William Chadwick and Luca Alpert won alongside regular driver Raphael Rennhofer in the 911, while Sven Winter and Michael Teusch triumphed twice in the Clio. As in the real ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecke-Serie, the DNLS features multi-class action. New this season is the Clio SP3 class. It forms the counterpart to the significantly faster and more spectacular GT3 cars in the SP9. And even though the power is much lower – in the class of compact sports cars from France, exciting racing is on offer. “We always have to keep an eye on the mirrors from the second lap onwards when we are on the D-Zug and the GT3 pack flies past us. Above all, we have to make sure that we still take the momentum with us everywhere,” says championship leader Teusch. ”We reach our top speed of around 215 km/h in the Fuchsröhre. We don't have a chance of getting up to that speed on the Döttinger Höhe. The Clio lacks a bit of power at the top end. Plus, we're running without ABS, which means that the rear wheels tend to lock up. That makes driving the Clio extremely demanding, but it's always a lot of fun.” BS+COMPETITION leads the field in the SP9 class. European Truck Racing Champion Norbi Kiss and Felix Quirmbach finished second in the Mercedes-AMG GT3's digital counterpart at the season opener and went on to win the second race on February 1. AMG Team Apex Racing is in second place – with a respectable seven-point gap. Gordie Mutch has taken a liking to DNLS during his most recent guest start. The Briton, who won the 2022 Praga Cup and finished tenth in the 2024 British GT4 Championship, is replacing Elias Seppänen as a real driver at Apex Racing. Sebastian Øgaard, a young talent, is taking his place in the simulator for Pole Promotion Esports, the team around DTM champion René Rast and Alexey Nesov. The Dane has twice finished on the podium in the GTWC Silver Cup in 2024. After a break of one race, Tim Heinemann returns to the virtual cockpit of the Porsche 911 GT3 R of Team Nitro x Falken. The 27-year-old sim racing pro made his DTM debut in 2023 and last year, with Falken Motorsports, claimed victory in the real-life ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecke-Serie. Falken Simracing leads the championship in the GT4 class SP10. Lucas U. Müller and Benedikt Hitz drove the BMW M4 GT4 to third and first place, and with a one-point lead, they are just ahead of SimRC. In the Mercedes-AMG GT4, Corentin Guinez and Marvi Strehl finished second twice.The second RAVENOL 3-hour race is the third of four rounds in the 2024/2025 winter season.
