Triple record on the Nordschleife: Chevrolet set three new best times for US-manufactured vehicles at the Nürburgring in June 2025 with the Corvette Z06, ZR1, and ZR1X – driven by the engineers who developed them. All record drives and further information Onboard through the Green HellThe record lap of the Corvette Z06, ZR1, and ZR1X  is now available on the Nürburgring YouTube channel. The onboard footage from the cockpit of the vehicle offers the opportunity to relive this fantastic lap. Information about the official “Nürburgring record laps”The following principle applies to all drives: one track, one complete lap, one time – according to uniform standards. In addition to timekeeping with calibrated measuring technology, official record attempts and attempts to achieve a lap time are always accompanied by a notary. In addition to monitoring the timekeeping, the vehicle is also inspected. TÜV Rheinland checks for standard conformity and documents this. The exact length of the track and the start and finish lines are precisely defined. A full lap of the Nordschleife is driven and measured with a flying start (20.8 kilometers). The vehicle categories for record drives and official lap times at the Nürburgring are divided into different segments by the Federal Motor Transport Authority and specially defined special classes.

Statement on the Incident at the Nordschleife Entrance

28.07.2025

We are aware that on Saturday, July 26, at the Nordschleife entrance, there was unacceptable misconduct by a staff member towards a guest. We state clearly: Racist or discriminatory remarks have no place at the Nürburgring. The staff member in question was immediately relieved of all duties and the collaboration has been terminated. He will no longer be working for the Nürburgring. We sincerely apologize to the guest concerned and to everyone who has been unsettled by this incident. It is our highest priority to ensure that all visitors feel welcome and respected. The Nürburgring stands for respect, openness, and fair treatment – for our guests, partners, and employees alike.

Living legends at the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix

28.07.2025

From August 1 to 3, 2025, the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix will bring the full spectrum of historic motorsport to the Nürburgring: At the 52nd edition of this traditional event, visitors will experience more than two dozen races and demo runs with vehicles from nine decades – from the pre-war era to the Cosworth Formula 1 cars of the 70s and 80s to sports prototypes from the early 2000s. Highlights include the atmospheric evening race featuring iconic sports cars from the 1950s and 1960s, legendary touring cars from DTM history, the spectacular cars of the German Racing Championship (DRM), and a revival of the Super Touring Cars (STW). Also new to the program are historic motorcycles and Porsche racing cars from the Golden Era Classic Cup. Autograph sessions, auctions, and club meetings make the OGP 2025 a classic weekend full of emotion, speed, and history. Tickets are available here. The sporting highlight of the weekend will be the twelve historic racing classes. With Formula 1 from the Cosworth era (1966–1985), the premier class returns to the Ring in retro style, bringing with it some real milestones in Grand Prix history to the Eifel region. The German Racing Championship (DRM) thrills with roaring sounds and turbo power. The touring cars of the Golden Era bring a strong field to the track, including prominent former DTM drivers such as Kris Nissen, Roland Asch, Kurt Thiim, Volker Strycek, and Altfrid Heger. The evening race for two-seater GTs and racing cars up to 1971, featuring a host of top-class vehicles, offers real Le Mans flair at dusk on Saturday. New to the program: the Revival STW and the Porsche Classic Cup. With the bikes of the “Grab the Flag!” drivers' association, motorcycle history will also be prominently represented again in 2025 for the first time. Icons on wheels – motorsport history you can touchThe BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix brings legendary vehicles back together again. Touring cars, GTs, formula and sports cars showcase the full diversity of almost 100 years of racing history. Highlights such as the Bentley 4½ Litre and the Alfa Romeo 8C Monza impress in the Vintage Sports Car Trophy. The evening race will feature automotive icons such as the Porsche 904 GTS, Mercedes 300 SL, Aston Martin DB4 GT, Ferrari 250 GT SWB, and Lola T70. In the DRM Revival, the Zakspeed Capri Turbo and BMW M1 Procar, among others, will give spectators goose bumps. The Formula 1 races bring real automotive history to the track with the groundbreaking Lotus 78 (the first ground-effect car) and the McLaren M26 (James Hunt's winning car). And the list goes on and on: hardly any other event offers such a wealth of motoring history. A classic festival to fall in love withEven away from the track, the OGP is a festival for visitors. In the open paddock, you can experience the classics up close, including petrol talk and selfie opportunities. Numerous exhibitors present rarities, accessories, literature, and technology. Particularly exciting for collectors: Classicbid is once again hosting a large live auction as part of the OGP this year. Autograph sessions in the tent of media partner Motor Klassik, a live podcast, an evening party at BELMOT, limited edition watches from timing partner Junghans, and many other attractions make the Oldtimer Grand Prix an experience even away from the track. Even more classic car feeling: Nordschleife, brand clubs, and digital serviceAnd the event doesn't end at the Grand Prix circuit: driving events on the Nordschleife from Friday to Sunday offer a real “Green Hell” feeling. 33rd Cologne Course – An “Eifel Crime Thriller”

27.07.2025

The offer from the Nürburgring for a two-day event on the Cologne circuit in July was an opportunity for MSC Porz to hold the Cologne circuit event in better weather than in May/June. It also meant that several interesting vintage motorcycle groups could be integrated into the two-day event. Saturday's practice runs took place in dry, beautiful Eifel weather, promising an interesting day of competition on Sunday! The closely packed races in the various classes began on Sunday at 8:00 a.m., with the weather forecast looking good, but this changed quite “punctually” at 9:00 a.m. to what is known as “Eifel weather.” As the rain increased, the track became wet and could only be “enjoyed” with caution by the fast motorcycles. The start times for the individual classes in the competition sequence had to be postponed several times until the race track finally had to be closed for almost two hours for safety reasons. As some classes were therefore unable to complete their first race, the entire schedule for the second races in the afternoon had to be changed to allow at least one race for each class. As is typical for the “weather thriller” in the Eifel region, and here in particular at the Nürburgring, the track had dried out enough by 1:30 p.m. that the races could resume with a completely revised schedule. First, the very fast sidecars from the years up to 1983 thrilled the crowd with a fascinating competition, which was met with enthusiastic applause in the paddock after the race. However, after this race, which was again for the other classes, the weather remained fairly stable, allowing the event to continue until the last race of the revised schedule. Despite all these negative and unforeseeable influences, the two-day event can be considered a success, which, with good weather, would certainly have been a real highlight of the classic motorcycle racing scene and one that could be repeated.

BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix 2025: The best tips for visitors

23.07.2025

The BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix from August 1 to 3, 2025, is much more than just a race weekend for historic vehicles. Visitors can expect a genuine motorsport festival with countless classic vehicles, and there will be plenty to see off the race track as well. In the paddock and other areas of the traditional Eifel race track, guests of all ages will be amazed. There will be emotional reunions at autograph sessions, technical fascination with automotive works of art from all eras, and first-hand information. A special experience is the tour of the paddock, which is included with every ticket. This year, it even extends into the Mercedes Arena – with hundreds of vehicles, teams, exhibitors, and other attractions. Highlights on the race track itself include demonstrations of the classic Le Mans start, the atmospheric evening race for two-seater sports cars and GTs up to 1971, Formula 1 cars from the Cosworth era, and the premiere of a single-make super touring car race. Test drives with pre-war racing cars and historic motorcycles are also on offer, as is the Nordschleife, which invites visitors to take a closer look. Prominent drivers will also be getting back behind the wheel in the “Touring Car Golden Era” races and can be seen up close during the big autograph sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Classic car auction at the ring°boulevardClassicbid takes center stage on the covered promenade of the ring°boulevard: around 100 classic cars will go under the hammer here over the weekend. Everyone can join in the excitement at the live auction on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. And if you want, you can also register as a bidder on site. Even outside of the auction, the stand is worth a visit – the vehicles will be on display throughout the weekend. Historic paddock: a journey through timeThe historic paddock is home to the oldest vehicles of the weekend in their original setting: this year, the pre-war racing cars of the Vintage Sports Car Trophy will be joined by the historic motorcycles of “Grab the Flag!” A special exhibit: an Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider that competed in the 1971 96-hour race at the Nürburgring. The driver at the time, Hanno Schumacher (85), will also be there. Grand Prix paddock: brands, stars, and great partnersThe heart of the event will once again beat in the Grand Prix paddock this year. This is where all the participating teams can be found with their racing cars – from Formula 1 cars to touring cars. Relaxation areas with a wide range of catering options invite visitors to linger. At the same time, the paddock features merchandising stands, specialist literature, model cars, accessories, memorabilia, and much more: a treasure trove for enthusiasts.  And, of course, this is where you can meet the teams and drivers in person – including the chance for a spontaneous chat about cars, a selfie, or an autograph. The partners of the Oldtimer Grand Prix also contribute to the variety. Title sponsor BELMOT will be on hand throughout the weekend to personalize visitors' newly purchased OGP polo shirts and racing sweaters.  The voucher is included with the purchase of an official OGP polo shirt. On Saturday at 3:00 p.m., the insurer invites visitors to the premiere of its new podcast series “BELMOT & Friends on the road” at its stand in the paddock. Later, from 6:30 p.m., there will be live music at the BELMOT stand party. Junghans is also back as the official timekeeping partner. The watch brand is celebrating its tenth anniversary as timekeeping partner in 2025 and has two exclusive special models in strictly limited editions: The 1972 Automatic and the 1972 Chronoscope will be available in editions of only 52 pieces each – a reference to the 52nd edition of the Oldtimer Grand Prix. Other fine timepieces will also be on display at the stand right next to the award podium – along with an original BMW M1 from the renowned Steim collection. Not far away, media partner Motor Klassik will also be present with its large tent. This year, for the first time, there will be a special exhibition of historic racing motorcycles, complemented by selected automobiles: A Porsche 924 will be presented to the winner of the Motor Klassik Readers' Award 2025 on Saturday evening. There will also be a 1987 Alpina BMW M3 that was once driven by Ellen Lohr and Andreas Bovensiepen at the Brno Grand Prix. And those who settle down here for coffee and cake may also experience the big autograph sessions (Sat, 12:30 p.m. and Sun, 11:30 a.m.) with prominent drivers from the “Golden Era of Touring Cars.” The fuel experts from Aspen will also be back in the paddock, presenting their classic car-friendly fuel, Aspen Classic Fuel. Racing teams will also be able to test the fuel's practicality over the weekend, as the manufacturer is giving away 2,000 liters of fuel free of charge to participants. Visitors can also take part in the Aspen Challenge: Four pairs of weekend tickets for the OGP 2026 will go to those who can hold a filled 5-liter canister horizontally with their arm outstretched for the longest time. The task is a little less strenuous at sim racing specialist Racewerk, where visitors can climb into the virtual cockpit of a high-end racing simulator. Attractions everywhereThe top brand clubs gather in the Mercedes Arena. This is also where you will find the BELMOT Service Point, which offers practical support for active participants. There are also other attractions to discover around the track. The Nordschleife is always full of eye-catching vehicles on two and four wheels – during the track day on Friday or during club rides and pre-war demonstrations on the weekend. Other brand clubs are represented in the parking lots around the start/finish line. Tip: Ongrid app offers results and informationAll information about the event, including the schedule and ticket shop, is available online at oldtimergrandprix.com. For up-to-date information during the weekend, we recommend checking the OGP channels on Facebook and Instagram. Results, news, starter lists, and more are available via the “Ongrid” app, which can be downloaded free of charge for mobile devices.
