Can Georg Berlandy win again in a modern classic?

03.11.2024

As part of the Cologne-Ahrweiler Rally, we are once again looking forward to the enthusiastic participation of over 100 vehicles! Twelve demanding special stages covering around 147 km are on the agenda between the Nürburgring and the Ahr region. In addition to the approximately 80 teams competing for the best time, more than 30 vehicles will again be on display during the practice, training and test drives in advance of the tests. Last year's winner Georg Berlandy, who has already won the rally a total of 15 times, will once again be driving at the traditional rally across the ramp of the Nürburgring paddock this year. Last year he was still driving a ŠKODA Fabia R5, but this year he wants to win for the first time with a BMW, as he switched back to a YOUNGTIMER car - the M3 E30 - last winter and is competing in the Youngtimer Rallye Trophy. In fact, the BMW brand is not yet listed in the list of winners of the Rallye Köln-Ahrweiler, so it will be interesting to see whether he succeeds. Unfortunately, the duel from the last two years with Dennis Rosteck has to be canceled this year. After winning the Twente Rally in the Netherlands two weeks ago, Dennis Rosteck now has the chance to win the title in our neighboring country next weekend at the Drenthe Rally. Therefore, the risk of competing a week before the championship decision is too high for him. Nevertheless, it will not be boring at the top and a reunion next year as part of the Köln-Ahrweiler is definitely planned. Christopher Gerhard, who came in third last year, continues to rely on the power of the Škoda Fabia R5 and will want to celebrate his first victory as part of the Köln-Ahrweiler. Brand diversity at the top is ensured. Edwin Wolves, who used to compete in various Opel models and has been a permanent fixture on the stages between Ahr and Eifel for many years, will once again be competing in a Renault Clio Rallye 3, in which he finished third last year. Of the top 5 from last year, four teams will be competing again this year, including Jonas Tischner, who, after finishing fourth and winning the YOUNGTIMER Gold Cup 2023 in the usual fast BMW M3 in FINA design, wants to be at the front again this year. With Yann Munhowen, Tischner has a class rival in the same car breathing down his neck, who, like last year, also wants to have a say in the victory in the youngtimer classification. With Michael Bieg (Mitsubishi EVO 9), Colin Dünker (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4), Michael SøRENSEN (Peugeot 208) or local hero Kevin Müller (Toyota Yaris GR), there are other top teams at the start who want to achieve another sense of achievement at the end of the 2024 rally season. Heinz-Robert Jansen, multiple champion of the Youngtimer Rallye Trophy, is also competing this year in his Opel Manta B and could celebrate his ninth championship title among the young-timer rally drivers of the Youngtimer Rallye Trophy here. Jansen, from Lohmar, is competing in the Cologne-Ahrweiler Rally for the 29th time, as is Heinz Kottmann (BMW 318is).

Falcons for the fifth time, championship decision postponed

19.10.2024

The sun was shining when Alessio Picariello crossed the finish line as the winner. Together with Klaus Bachler, the Belgian took the fifth victory of the season for Falken Motorsports in the Porsche 911 GT3 R with the starting number 3. The place on the top step of the podium was the well-deserved reward for a demanding race day in the Green Hell. Frank Stippler and Nico Bastian took second place in the Scherer Sport PHX Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2, with Dennis Fetzer, Michele Beretta and Jusuf Owega in the Team Advan x HRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 finishing in fourth. The battle for the championship in the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie has meanwhile been postponed. Bachler and Picariello's victory in the 55th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy was anything but a walk in the park. In cold and wet conditions during qualifying, Bachler initially set the best time before he went off the track with the Falken 911 and crashed into the barrier. The Falken team used the break until the race to repair the car. As the last car to start, the 911 rolled to the starting line just in time, with Bachler at the wheel. He defended this position for four laps. Because the GPS system was not working properly due to the repair, race control ordered Falken to the pits with the so-called 'fried egg flag'. At the unscheduled stop, the team decided to make a bold tire change: Bachler was the first driver to switch to slicks. Even though the first few meters were difficult, he managed to build up a lead. At the next stop, Picariello took over the wheel and also had contact with the guard rail in the butcher's field. The damage did not affect the racing speed and he continued the race in changing weather conditions. “The Nordschleife was really a big challenge today,” admitted Picariello. “Klaus did two fantastic stints in difficult conditions and then handed the car over to me with a big lead over first place. For me, it was still primarily a matter of survival with the traffic and changing conditions.” Bachler added: ”Today was really a very emotional day with many ups and downs. After qualifying, I didn't think we would be racing today. The team then did a great job. All credit to our mechanics.” Nico Bastian makes strong Audi debutIn his first outing in the GT3 Audi, Bastian impressed right from the start, setting the fastest race lap in 8:01.545 minutes. “It was a great honor for me to drive the winning car of this year's 24-hour race, Scherer Sport PHX, together with Frank,” said the 34-year-old. “The biggest challenge was the weather, both yesterday during the test and today in the race. In my first dry lap, I then immediately set this strong lap time. For me, a lot of this weekend was new territory. But sometimes that's exactly what you need. In the end, we finished second and I had a lot of fun.” After the first Mercedes-AMG victory in 2024 at the 6-hour race, the Advan x HRT team confirmed their good performance with third place. “In qualifying, we really struggled with the conditions and ended up only in 21st place on the grid,” said Fetzer. “In the race, things went quite well, the sun came out at the end, and we made it onto the podium – that's quite a consolation.” Tobias Müller and Black Falcon win PETN Cup2Behind the top trio, the Black Falcon Team 48 Losch with Tobias Müller and Noah Nagelsdiek not only celebrated class victory in the Cup 2 of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring, but also the title in the popular brand trophy. “I used to share in the excitement with my father when he was racing, and today I'm getting the biggest success of my career – I'm almost lost for words,” said an emotional Müller. ”The key to our success, apart from our speed, was consistency. We scored a lot of extra points with pole position and the fastest race lap. Today, we managed to win again.” In the Cup 3 class, Joshua Bednarski, Lucas Daugaard and Moritz Oberheim of AVIA W&S Motorsport wrapped up the title at NLS4. The team has not yet managed this feat in the overall standings of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series. The trio's Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS was badly damaged in an accident during Friday's test, meaning that they were unable to start. “Unfortunately, our Cayman could not be repaired overnight,” admitted team manager Patrick Wagner. ‘Our drivers were unfortunately condemned to watch. But in four weeks, we will be back in full force to win the NLS championship after winning the PETN title.’ The class victory went to the SRS Team Sorg Rennsport with drivers Heiko Eichenberg, Fabio Grosse and Patrik Grütter. Adrenalin keeps the championship openWith their fifth victory in the seventh race, Sven Markert, Ranko Mijatovic and Toby Goodman in the BMW M240i Racing of the Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhatten Wheels kept their title chances open. Daniel Mertens and Joshua Hislop, on the other hand, are out of the race. With the Hyundai i30N, the duo first suffered a technical defect that could be quickly rectified and then an accident. Mertens Motorsport did not bury their heads in the sand here either. Mertens/Hislop were classified sixth, but unfortunately no longer have a chance of winning the championship. Benjamin Leuchter, Dominik and Marcel Fugel drove the fastest car in the alternative fuels class to ninth place overall. The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from Max Kruse Racing is powered by Shell E20 fuel with 102 octane and performed extremely well with it. At times, the trio even finished second overall. The team's Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 24h also relies on this fuel and took second place in its class. The long-standing pioneers in sustainability in the Green Hell had to settle for third place. Rapper Smudo (Die Fantastischen Vier) drove the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from Four Motors Bioconcept-Car together with Michelle Halder and Henrik Bollerslev. The finale of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie will take place on November 16th.

17.10.2024

Fans can already look forward to next season: from Sunday, 3pm, tickets for the DTM in 2025 will be available at dtm.com. Those who decide by November 15 can save up to 33 percent – prices start at 49 euros. Those who secure tickets quickly will benefit from more attractive discounts: with the fast-lane discount, fans receive a ten percent discount in all categories when purchasing DTM tickets. ADAC members even benefit twice over and receive a further ten percent membership discount on their order. Overall, a whopping 33 percent can be saved compared to the box office price. The promotion at dtm.com runs until November 15, 2024. Tickets in all categories for seven of the eight DTM race weekends next year will be available from October 20 at 3 p.m. Advance ticket sales for the city spectacle at the Norisring are expected to start in November. The DTM will continue to be an event for the whole family in 2025: children and teenagers under the age of 16 will receive free access at all tracks when accompanied by a paying adult. In addition, all tickets offer access to the paddock, the pit walk and the DTM Fan Zone. Only at the Sachsenring is access to the DTM paddock restricted for capacity reasons. “The DTM is popular with fans for its spectacular motor racing and top-class entertainment, as evidenced by the sharp increase in visitor numbers this year. We have been able to keep ticket prices stable for the coming season, and a new ticket shop now offers significantly more convenience when ordering tickets. Our offer for families is unbeatable, with free entry for children under 16 years of age, and we will continue this in 2025. We want to continue to inspire the whole family with the DTM,” says ADAC Head of Motorsport Thomas Voss. Next year, fans can look forward to 16 championship races at eight events in Germany, the Netherlands and Austria. The first two DTM victories will be contested at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from April 25th to 27th, 2025. The season finale traditionally takes place at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg. With the Red Bull Ring in Austria and the Circuit Zandvoort on the Dutch North Sea coast, the calendar includes two Formula 1 circuits from other European countries. In addition, the DTM stars compete at the Dekra Lausitzring, the Norisring, the Nürburgring and the Sachsenring.

NLS enters the hot phase after an eleven-week break

16.10.2024

Drivers and fans of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie  have had to wait eleven weeks. This Saturday, October 19, 2024, race action is finally back on the agenda in the 'Green Hell'. The teams in the traditional Nordschleife championship are just as hardy as the loyal spectators. Neither are deterred by mixed weather forecasts. The provisional entry list includes 126 cars and the 55th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy promises a thrilling race day, with the focus not only on the fight for victory on the day. The winning team from this year's ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring is returning to the Nordschleife. Frank Stippler and Nico Bastian will be driving the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2 from Scherer Sport PHX. Among the main opponents are the two Falken Porsches, which have so far notched up four victories. Klaus Bachler and Alessio Picariello, as well as Joel Eriksson and Tim Heinemann, will be at the wheel for the 55th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy. After winning the 6-hour race, Dennis Fetzer, Michele Beretta and Jusuf Owega, driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Team ADVAN x HRT, are also a force to be reckoned with. In addition, the two Audis from JUTARACING and équipe vitesse, a Porsche 911 GT3 R from Dinamic GT and the PROsport-Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will be competing in the GT3 class. Max Kruse Racing launches AT offensiveThe team around football star Max Kruse and Benny Leuchter is taking sustainability to the next level at NLS5. Of the six cars in the team from Duisburg, five will start in the 'Alternative Fuels' class. In addition to the spectacular VW Golf GTI Clubsport 24h, which celebrated its NLS debut with a strong second place in the 6-hour race, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with starting number #105 will also rely on a sustainable Shell E20 fuel with 102 octane for the first time. For the first time, a fast refueling system will be used in the Max Kruse Racing garage for this car for testing purposes. “This is an important step for the future,” explains VLN sports director Christian Vormann. ”The approval of these systems will enable our teams to work with individual fuel partners to advance sustainability in our series in the future. So we are no longer limited in the range of different concepts. The ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is once again taking on a pioneering role as a technology-open championship.” MKR will field two more VW Golf GTI TCRs and an 'alternative' Audi RS3 TCR. Three Porsches from Four Motors Bioconcept-Car, built by rapper SMUDO (Die Fantastischen Vier) and Tom von Löwis, will also be competing in sustainable motorsport at NLS5. A preliminary decision in the championship is possibleWith two races remaining, the fight for the championship is slowly but surely coming to a head. Four teams can still win the title. Joshua Bednarski, Lucas Daugaard and Moritz Oberheim lead the table with the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS from AVIA W&S Motorsport. The trio took five class victories, including the 6-hour race, which earns more points, as well as a second place. If they manage another victory, they will be uncatchable in the standings. In certain constellations in the remaining two races, the second-placed Daniel Merten and Joshua Hislop could still become champions with the Hyundai i30N of Team Mertens Motorsport. Steve Jans and Tobias Müller in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of the BLACK FALCON Team 48 LOSCH and Sven Markert, Ranko Mijatovic and Toby Goodman in the BMW M240i Racing Cup of the Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhatten Wheels also have at least a theoretical chance. The situation in the Junior Trophy, which is open to drivers born after January 1, 1999, is similar: Daugaard leads the standings ahead of Hislop and Goodman. In the production car category, Mertens Motorsport leads the standings. They have a nine-point lead over Jan-Piet Ooms, who races for SRS Team Sorg Rennsport in a BMW 330i (G20). There are still a number of permutations in which the championship will be decided. Age is no barrier to racing speed! The newly created Gentleman Trophy, which was launched this year, is set to be exciting. Drivers born in 1973 and earlier compete against each other. With 30 points still to be awarded, about a dozen drivers still have a chance of winning the title. Michael Eichhorn (Cupra, Auto Thomas by Jung Motorsport) is in the lead, ahead of Michael Tischner (Toyota Supra GT4, TOYO TIRES with Ring Racing) and Eichhorn's teammate Michael Winterwerber. In the NLS Speed Trophy, the classification for the top cars, the #4 Porsche 911 GT3 R from Falken Motorsports is in first place. Its lead over the #911 Manthey EMA 911 is 18 points. However, since 'Grello' will not be competing due to a scheduling conflict, Falken can wrap things up with a third-place finish. Desiree Müller (BMW 325i, Eifelkind Racing) is leading the Ladies Trophy ahead of Flavia Pellegrino Fernandes (BMW 325i, Keeevin Sports and Racing), who won the classification last year. Both ladies are competing in the V4 class and the result is still open. The Goodyear Wingfoot Award, which has been announced for the first time this year, is given to all vehicles across all classes that rely on Goodyear's black gold. The #50 Audi R8 LMS GT3 from équipe vitesse has a good chance of winning the title for the first time. Its lead over the two BMW M240i Racing Cup #650 and #651 from Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhatten Wheels is 116 points. Tickets are available for €22 (children up to 14 years of age are free) and can also be purchased at the box office. These include access to the open grandstands at the Grand Prix circuit, the exclusive Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten spectator areas, the paddock, the pit lane, the starting grid and the ring°werk motorsport experience museum. The positions on the starting grid will be determined between 8:30 and 10 am. During the pit walk starting at 10:20 am and the visit to the starting grid starting at 11:10 am, fans will experience motorsport up close.

ADAC Racing Weekend celebrates newly crowned champions at the Nürburgring

14.10.2024

At autumnal cool temperatures at the Nürburgring, the final of the ADAC Racing Weekend 2024 took place last weekend. In the GTC Race, Julian Hanses, Jay Mo Härtling and Luca Arnold (all Mercedes-AMG GT3) took the race victories, while in the Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy (STT), the duo Kenneth Heyer / Marcel Marchewicz (both Mercedes-AMG GT3) celebrated a double victory. Cedric Fuchs (VW up! GTI) also had double cause for celebration in the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup, as did Wim Kuijl (Ford Capri 3100 RS) in the Belcar Historic Cup. Finally, there were a few regularity tests. In the Touring Car & GT Revival, Steven Ostrowski (Ford Focus) and Peter Röskes / Susanne Röskes (Mercedes SLK 55) received the biggest trophies, while Lutz Crackau (Zagk S20-9), Uwe Gretzinger (Ford Escort RS Mk4) and Tobias Niederelz (Porsche 924) won in the VFV GLPpro. Jay Mo Härtling wins two titles in the GTC Race finaleIn the GT60 powered by Pirelli, the endurance format of the GTC Race, Jay Mo Härtling was able to pull away from the field in the first half of the race together with Luca Arnold, before handing over to Julian Hanses. At the same time, Marvin Dienst climbed into Arnold's Mercedes. Dienst put pressure on Hanses in the second stint, but the latter held his ground to take the win with Härtling, just ahead of Arnold / Dienst. Konstantin Gutsul and Ivan Peklin (both Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II) took third place at the finish line. With this triumph, the GT3 title also went to Hanses and Härtling. In the first GT Sprint, Arnold got off to a less than ideal start, but since his main rival Hanses was spun around by Gutsul and later retired due to consequential damage, Arnold was still able to celebrate his second GT Sprint victory of the season. Martin Zander (Mercedes-AMG GT3) and Gutsul saw the chequered flag behind Arnold. In the second sprint, Arnold had to let Härtling go ahead in a close duel, Peklin crossed the finish line in third place. Härtling is the new GT3 class GT sprint champion. New champion of the STT comes from RomaniaIn the first STT race, no one was better than Kenneth Heyer / Marcel Marchewicz. At the start, Heyer took the lead before Klaus Abbelen (Ferrari 296 GT3) took the lead on the fifth lap. After the mandatory pit stops, Marchewicz, who took over the wheel of Heyer's car for the second stint, found himself in first place, steadily increasing his lead and crossing the finish line in triumph ahead of Abbelen and Mex Jansen / Jordin Poland (BMW M6 GT3). In the second race, the duo Heyer / Marchewicz were once again able to wave from the first step of the podium. Abbelen took second place, while Jürgen Alzen / Timo Scheibner (BMW M4 GT3) secured third place, beating the Dutch duo of Jansen / Poland in a thrilling final phase. But Tudor Tudurachi (BMW M4 GT4 G82) also had every reason to be happy: the Romanian, who is classified in Division 2, is the 2024 STT champion. Cedric Fuchs takes double victory to become new ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup championIn the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup, in which all the drivers race identical VW Up! GTIs, the situation going into the title race was particularly close, because Cedric Fuchs arrived in the Eifel with just one point more than Mike Müller. Fuchs was well aware of his narrow lead, so he took the lead at the start of the first race and never gave it up. His toughest rival for the title, Müller, had to settle for second place ahead of Julian Konrad. On Sunday, Fuchs was able to pull away from the field early on and steadily extend his lead. After eight laps, he crossed the finish line almost six seconds ahead of Müller, thus securing the title in the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup. Konrad took third place in the final race of the year. The young drivers are now aiming to move up to higher classes, as current GTC driver Linus Hahne (BMW M4 GT4) did last year. He entered the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup in 2021 without any karting experience and finished his first season in fifth place overall. “It certainly wasn't easy at the beginning, but you can work your way into it. I think the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup is a perfect entry-level series for racing drivers without much experience.” After two more seasons, which he finished third overall, Hahne moved up to the GTC Race within the ADAC Racing Weekend. “I like the ADAC Racing Weekend because it's professional but still friendly and approachable. During my season, I was able to make contact with teams from higher series, and we were able to get to know each other a bit; that's a big advantage of the ADAC Racing Weekend. I think a GT4 car as part of the GTC race was the perfect next step for me; I would do it again every time.” Hahne's results also show that he is still on the right track: he came second in the GT4 final standings of the GT60 powered by Pirelli and fourth in the GT4 final standings of the GT Sprint. Wim Kuijl unbeatable in the Belcar Historic CupWim Kuijl finished ahead of Erik Qvick (BMW E36 STW) and Georgios Katsikis (Opel Kadett C Coupé) in the first race of the Belcar Historic Cup. Kuijl took the lead at the start and was able to defend it to the finish. Behind him, Tim Kuijl (BMW E36 325i) was in second position until the last lap, but then dropped back to sixth place, allowing Qvick and Katsikis to move up to second and third place. In the second race, Wim Kuijl celebrated his second victory of the weekend. Tim Kuijl quickly moved up from sixth on the grid to second place, but retired in the last lap. So second place went to Qvick, as it did the day before, with Jan van Elderen (Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500) taking third. The art of driving as consistently as possibleIn addition to the conventional race series, regularity tests were also held at the Nürburgring. The participants of the Touring Car & GT Revival were allowed to take part twice; Steven Ostrowski won the first heat ahead of Peter and Susanne Röskes and Peter and Christopher Kohl (Ford Sierra Cosworth). In heat two, Peter and Susanne Röskes successfully took revenge and won ahead of Ostrowski and Pat Stein / Freddy Meier (Volvo 850 T5-R). The VLF GLPpro had so many registrations that three different tests were necessary. In the formula and sports cars, nobody was better than Lutz Crackau; the closest competitors were Leonard Zabel (Van Diemen RF) and Günther Becker (Reynard Martini Formula 3). Uwe Gretzinger came first in the GT and Touring Car 1 race, ahead of Peter Stalder (BMW E36 M3 GTR) and Christian Hausner (Opel Kadett C). In the GT and Touring Car 2 race, Tobias Niederelz came first, ahead of Stephan Schaade (Ford Escort) and Markus Tondorf (Ford Orion).

Porsche Sports Cup Germany is part of the ADAC Racing Weekend

14.10.2024

The Porsche Sports Cup will find a new home in motorsport from the 2025 season onwards and will be part of the ADAC Racing Weekend. Porsche will be a guest at the ADAC's grassroots motorsport platform six times next year with three series, which is expanding and will hold eight events between May and October for the first time. A premiere is on the agenda for July 12-13, when an event will be held for the first time at the Red Bull Ring in Styria. The ADAC Racing Weekend will return to Austria for a second time from September 5th to 7th at the Salzburgring. The season will kick off at Hockenheim on May 3rd and 4th. All ADAC Racing Weekend races will again be available as free live streams in 2025. The Porsche Sprint Challenge GT3, the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT4 and the Porsche Endurance Challenge, all previously part of the Porsche Sports Cup Germany, will be an integral part of six ADAC Racing Weekends from 2025. Porsche will use the ADAC platform for semi-pro and amateur racing to optimally position itself for the 21st season of the Porsche Sports Cup Germany. The Porsche Sprint Challenge GT3 and the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT4 will each hold two 30-minute sprints per race weekend, while the Porsche Endurance Challenge will hold a 60-minute race with a pit stop and possible driver change. “We are delighted with this high-caliber addition to the ADAC Racing Weekend and are now expanding our successful collaboration with Porsche in the DTM to our second platform. The ADAC Racing Weekend has developed strongly in recent years and has enjoyed high demand from various racing series. We are taking this into account and expanding the calendar to eight events for the coming season,” says ADAC Head of Motorsport Thomas Voss.

Many title decisions at the ADAC Racing Weekend finale at the Nürburgring

09.10.2024

This coming weekend (October 11-13) is the final of the ADAC Racing Weekend 2024. At the Nürburgring, the GTC Race, Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy (STT) and ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup series will go into their final title decision, and the Belcar Historic Cup, which is part of an ADAC Racing Weekend for the first time this season, will also be contested in the Eifel. Two regularity series, the Touring Car & GT Revival and the VFV GLPpro, will also be taking part, thrilling fans with their classic vehicles. As usual, a free livestream will be available again from the Nürburgring on Saturday and Sunday at youtube.com/adacmotorsports. Coverage begins at 9:05 am on Saturday with qualifying for the GT60 powered by Pirelli and at 8:35 am on Sunday when the second GT Sprint qualifying session starts. Can Luca Arnold stop the GTC protégés?In the GTC Race, the two sponsored drivers Julian Hanses and Jay Mo Härtling (both Mercedes-AMG GT3) are the favorites for the title. In the GT60 powered by Pirelli, the one-hour race within the GTC Race, they are tied for the lead in the GT3 overall standings, followed by Ivan Peklin and Konstantin Gutsul (both R8 LMS GT3 evo II). The Audi duo are currently 17 points behind the Mercedes pairing. In the GT3 classification of the GT Sprint, the sprint format of the GTC Race, it is much closer, with Härtling leading by just one point ahead of Luca Arnold (Mercedes-AMG GT3). Arnold shares his race car at the Nürburgring again with experienced Marvin Dienst. Jürgen Bender wants to displace Tudor Tudurachi from first placeTudor Tudurachi (BMW M4 GT4 G82) comes to the Nürburgring as the leader of the STT standings. The Romanian took the top spot at Spa-Francorchamps and defended it at Assen. But he can't afford to relax just yet. For one thing, Jürgen Bender (Chevrolet Corvette C7 GT3 R) is lurking in second place, just three points behind him, and for another, double points will be awarded at the finale. Henk Thuis, who usually drives a Pumaxs RT, will switch to a BMW Z4 GT3 this coming weekend, which he will share with guest starter Hein Koopman. Klaus Abbelen (Ferrari 296 GT3) is another guest entrant for whom the Nürburgring is a genuine home race. He lives less than ten minutes' drive from the Nürburgring paddock. Cedric Fuchs vs. Mike MüllerThe young drivers contesting the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup, all of whom drive identical VW up! GTI cars, are guaranteed to provide plenty of excitement. The leader of the standings, Cedric Fuchs, and his closest rival, Mike Müller, are separated by just a single point. Fuchs has won three races so far, Müller four. But Storm Gjerdrum is another driver to watch, having won twice so far – despite having to miss the first four races due to his young age. Maxim Felix Dacher, who is currently third overall and still in with a chance of taking the title, is still waiting for his first victory this year. Belcar Historic Cup with cars from five decadesThe Belcar Historic Cup is traditionally a guest at the ADAC Racing Weekend at the Nürburgring, which takes place in the fall. The Belgians bring over 50 vehicles, built between 1958 and 1999. The Triumph TR3A with Filip Mahieu and Wouter Mahieu at the wheel is the only racer from the 50s, while David Potters' 1999 Peugeot 206 GTI is the youngest model in the field. Between these two vehicles, there are some automotive racing icons from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, including the Ford GT40, BMW M1, Porsche 911 and Opel Calibra. Regularity competitions offer attractive program highlights at the NürburgringTwo regularity competitions round off the program in the Eifel. The Touring Car & GT Revival, which was only revived this year, is looking forward to a field of over 20 racing cars, thus confirming the positive development in the comeback season. In the VFV GLPpro, which has existed for much longer, three different timed tests are even necessary due to the large number of participants. In addition to touring cars and GT cars, formula and sports cars are also eligible to compete here. This is the timetableThe weekend at the Nürburgring begins on Friday at 8:05 am with general test and setup driving, which also concludes the Friday at 5:45 pm. This will give all participants another chance to put the finishing touches in place for the finale. On Saturday, the action starts at 8:05 am with the Belcar Historic Cup free practice session, before the end of the GT60 powered by Pirelli race at 5:35 pm brings the race day to a close. On Sunday, the lights will turn green again at 8:05 a.m., this time for the mandatory training of the second group of VFV GLPpro touring cars and GTs. The end of the second race of the Touring Car & GT Revival at 5:20 p.m. marks the end of Sunday and thus also of the 2024 season of the ADAC Racing Weekend.
