Thrilling racing action with the DTM (August 8–10) and the GT World Challenge (August 29–31), the AFTER WORK CLASSICS Community Day (August 22), and moments of glory for historic racing cars at the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix (August 1–3): The coming month promises many highlights at the Nürburgring. Once again, the diversity of events at the traditional Eifel circuit will be on display: International GT races will alternate on the Grand Prix circuit with a major classic car event and a community day. Meanwhile, the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series (6-hour race on August 16), the RCN (August 17), and dates for the Radtreff (August 7 & 13) are scheduled for the Nordschleife. The events in August 2025 in detail: BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix | August 1 to 3, 2025August kicks off with one of Europe's most famous classic car events. All tickets also grant access to the paddock, where visitors can admire the automotive treasures up close, look over the shoulders of the mechanics, and meet one or two racing icons. On Saturday, there will also be a classic car auction with around 100 vehicles on the ring°boulevard. Day tickets are available in advance from $35.00, and tickets for the entire weekend cost $89.00. Particularly attractive for families: children and young people up to and including the age of 17 enjoy free admission. DTM | August 8 to 10, 2025The DTM is coming to the Nürburgring. And this year, the positions are even more hotly contested: the top 5 in the championship are separated by less than 10 points – thrilling duels are guaranteed. One race each on Saturday and Sunday, as well as other exciting racing series such as the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany, will attract visitors to the track. Day tickets for the DTM are available from $15.00, with weekend tickets starting at $69.00. AFTER WORK CLASSICS Community Day | August 22, 2025A day dedicated entirely to lovers of historic cars: the AFTER WORK CLASSICS Community Day. Starting at 12:00 noon, classic car owners and fans will meet in parking lot A10 on the ring°boulevard for relaxed conversations about cars at the famous Nürburgring logo. Upon arrival, participants will receive an exclusive discount card that entitles them to attractive discounts at ring°werk, the Nürburgring eSports Bar, restaurants, and the ring°fanshop. The highlight is an AFTER WORK CLASSICS session in the evening, when the gates to the Grand Prix circuit will be opened for classic cars from 6:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Only cars that are at least 30 years old are permitted. Highlights include the atmospheric evening race featuring iconic sports cars from the 1950s and 1960s, legendary touring cars from DTM history, the spectacular cars of the German Racing Championship (DRM), and a revival of the Super Touring Cars (STW). Also new to the program are historic motorcycles and Porsche racing cars from the Golden Era Classic Cup. Autograph sessions, auctions, and club meetings make the OGP 2025 a classic weekend full of emotion, speed, and history. Tickets are available here. The sporting highlight of the weekend will be the twelve historic racing classes. With Formula 1 from the Cosworth era (1966–1985), the premier class returns to the Ring in retro style, bringing with it some real milestones in Grand Prix history to the Eifel region. The German Racing Championship (DRM) thrills with roaring sounds and turbo power. The touring cars of the Golden Era bring a strong field to the track, including prominent former DTM drivers such as Kris Nissen, Roland Asch, Kurt Thiim, Volker Strycek, and Altfrid Heger. The evening race for two-seater GTs and racing cars up to 1971, featuring a host of top-class vehicles, offers real Le Mans flair at dusk on Saturday. New to the program: the Revival STW and the Porsche Classic Cup. With the bikes of the “Grab the Flag!” drivers' association, motorcycle history will also be prominently represented again in 2025 for the first time. Icons on wheels – motorsport history you can touchThe BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix brings legendary vehicles back together again. Touring cars, GTs, formula and sports cars showcase the full diversity of almost 100 years of racing history. The evening race will feature automotive icons such as the Porsche 904 GTS, Mercedes 300 SL, Aston Martin DB4 GT, Ferrari 250 GT SWB, and Lola T70. In the DRM Revival, the Zakspeed Capri Turbo and BMW M1 Procar, among others, will give spectators goose bumps. In the open paddock, you can experience the classics up close, including petrol talk and selfie opportunities. Numerous exhibitors present rarities, accessories, literature, and technology. BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix 2025: The best tips for visitors

23.07.2025

The BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix from August 1 to 3, 2025, is much more than just a race weekend for historic vehicles. Visitors can expect a genuine motorsport festival with countless classic vehicles, and there will be plenty to see off the race track as well. In the paddock and other areas of the traditional Eifel race track, guests of all ages will be amazed. There will be emotional reunions at autograph sessions, technical fascination with automotive works of art from all eras, and first-hand information. A special experience is the tour of the paddock, which is included with every ticket. This year, it even extends into the Mercedes Arena – with hundreds of vehicles, teams, exhibitors, and other attractions. Highlights on the race track itself include demonstrations of the classic Le Mans start, the atmospheric evening race for two-seater sports cars and GTs up to 1971, Formula 1 cars from the Cosworth era, and the premiere of a single-make super touring car race. Test drives with pre-war racing cars and historic motorcycles are also on offer, as is the Nordschleife, which invites visitors to take a closer look. Prominent drivers will also be getting back behind the wheel in the “Touring Car Golden Era” races and can be seen up close during the big autograph sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Classic car auction at the ring°boulevardClassicbid takes center stage on the covered promenade of the ring°boulevard: around 100 classic cars will go under the hammer here over the weekend. Everyone can join in the excitement at the live auction on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. And if you want, you can also register as a bidder on site. Even outside of the auction, the stand is worth a visit – the vehicles will be on display throughout the weekend. Historic paddock: a journey through timeThe historic paddock is home to the oldest vehicles of the weekend in their original setting: this year, the pre-war racing cars of the Vintage Sports Car Trophy will be joined by the historic motorcycles of “Grab the Flag!” A special exhibit: an Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider that competed in the 1971 96-hour race at the Nürburgring. The driver at the time, Hanno Schumacher (85), will also be there. Grand Prix paddock: brands, stars, and great partnersThe heart of the event will once again beat in the Grand Prix paddock this year. This is where all the participating teams can be found with their racing cars – from Formula 1 cars to touring cars. Relaxation areas with a wide range of catering options invite visitors to linger. At the same time, the paddock features merchandising stands, specialist literature, model cars, accessories, memorabilia, and much more: a treasure trove for enthusiasts.  And, of course, this is where you can meet the teams and drivers in person – including the chance for a spontaneous chat about cars, a selfie, or an autograph. The partners of the Oldtimer Grand Prix also contribute to the variety. Title sponsor BELMOT will be on hand throughout the weekend to personalize visitors' newly purchased OGP polo shirts and racing sweaters.  The voucher is included with the purchase of an official OGP polo shirt. On Saturday at 3:00 p.m., the insurer invites visitors to the premiere of its new podcast series “BELMOT & Friends on the road” at its stand in the paddock. Later, from 6:30 p.m., there will be live music at the BELMOT stand party. Junghans is also back as the official timekeeping partner. The watch brand is celebrating its tenth anniversary as timekeeping partner in 2025 and has two exclusive special models in strictly limited editions: The 1972 Automatic and the 1972 Chronoscope will be available in editions of only 52 pieces each – a reference to the 52nd edition of the Oldtimer Grand Prix. Other fine timepieces will also be on display at the stand right next to the award podium – along with an original BMW M1 from the renowned Steim collection. Not far away, media partner Motor Klassik will also be present with its large tent. This year, for the first time, there will be a special exhibition of historic racing motorcycles, complemented by selected automobiles: A Porsche 924 will be presented to the winner of the Motor Klassik Readers' Award 2025 on Saturday evening. There will also be a 1987 Alpina BMW M3 that was once driven by Ellen Lohr and Andreas Bovensiepen at the Brno Grand Prix. And those who settle down here for coffee and cake may also experience the big autograph sessions (Sat, 12:30 p.m. and Sun, 11:30 a.m.) with prominent drivers from the “Golden Era of Touring Cars.” The fuel experts from Aspen will also be back in the paddock, presenting their classic car-friendly fuel, Aspen Classic Fuel. Racing teams will also be able to test the fuel's practicality over the weekend, as the manufacturer is giving away 2,000 liters of fuel free of charge to participants. Visitors can also take part in the Aspen Challenge: Four pairs of weekend tickets for the OGP 2026 will go to those who can hold a filled 5-liter canister horizontally with their arm outstretched for the longest time. The task is a little less strenuous at sim racing specialist Racewerk, where visitors can climb into the virtual cockpit of a high-end racing simulator. Attractions everywhereThe top brand clubs gather in the Mercedes Arena. This is also where you will find the BELMOT Service Point, which offers practical support for active participants. There are also other attractions to discover around the track. The Nordschleife is always full of eye-catching vehicles on two and four wheels – during the track day on Friday or during club rides and pre-war demonstrations on the weekend. Other brand clubs are represented in the parking lots around the start/finish line. Tip: Ongrid app offers results and informationAll information about the event, including the schedule and ticket shop, is available online at oldtimergrandprix.com. BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix 2025: The legends of touring car racing are returning

16.07.2025

From August 1 to 3, the 52nd BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring invites visitors to take a high-caliber journey through the history of motorsport, featuring numerous racing series, prominent drivers, and legendary vehicles. Once again, the touring car classes are particularly well represented this year: Numerous DTM heroes will be making their comeback in the “Golden Era Touring Car” races. The iconic two-litre super touring cars will also be competing in their own race for the first time. Together with the spectacular DRM Revival and many other races and demo runs from the pre-war era to the early 2000s, the weekend offers automotive diversity, powerful sounds and pure emotion.  DTM heroes back on the trackThey are among the most popular classics in historic motorsport: the touring cars of the 1980s and 1990s. When these legends meet at the Nürburgring, goose bumps are guaranteed. This year, numerous former DTM greats will be providing a special reunion. Kris Nissen will be at the start in a BMW E30 M3. DTM legend Roland will be sharing a Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth he built himself with his son Sebastian. Volker Strycek and Kurt Thiim, two other influential figures in DTM history, will also be there. Multiple WTCC champion Yvan Muller will be making his first appearance at the Oldtimer Grand Prix – a real highlight for international touring car fans. And there will even be visitors from Australia: John Bowe, former V8 Supercars champion, is traveling to the event to cause a stir in a Volvo 240 Turbo. Altfrid Heger could also do the same in a rare Audi 200 M8. Henry Walkenhorst is not only an active endurance specialist at the start, but also a former DTM team boss, and the list of ex-DTM drivers is rounded off by Volker Schneider and Marc Hessel. These drivers not only stand for thrilling motorsport, but also for living history, presented with magnificent racing cars. There will be a reunion with the BMW M3, Mercedes 190 EVO, Sierra Cosworth, and many other unforgettable racing cars. For many fans, these names are legendary – and they can look forward not only to thrilling motorsport, but also to a big autograph session in the tent of media partner Motor Klassik. The races on Saturday and Sunday are must-see events for anyone who loves the classic sound and unmistakable appearance of these racing cars. Group 5 power at the DRM RevivalMotorsport history is also impressively revived in the German Racing Championship, with a fascinating mix of two- to four-liter racing cars, including numerous vehicles from the spectacular Group 5. And the field of these rare vehicles continues to grow: this year, eleven Group 5 racing cars will compete against each other – more than ever before at the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix. Fan favorite Peter Mücke, serial winner of previous editions of the race, will once again be bringing his powerful Ford Capri Turbo to the starting line, where he will face competition from the Griesemann family's Porsche 935 K3, various BMW 320 Group 5 cars, and rare exotics such as the Ford Remus Capri and the BMW 2002 Group 5. The DRM starting field will be complemented by classics such as the Opel Manta, BMW 635 CSI and De Tomaso Pantera – a tribute to the golden era of German racing, powerful, loud and unmistakable. Full house in the battle for the German Historic Car ChampionshipThe touring car, GT, and sports car races, which count toward the German Historic Car Championship, also offer plenty of action and treats for classic car enthusiasts. The Historic Championships '65 and '81 feature starting fields that reflect the diversity of European motorsport history in all its glory. The two races of the Historic Championship '65 will feature iconic vehicles such as the Jaguar E-Type, the Shelby Cobras, various Lotus Elan and Elite models, as well as fascinating one-offs such as an Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato and a Lister Jaguar Knobbly. While these older vehicles will compete in two 30-minute races on Saturday and Sunday, the Historic Championship '81 will be a one-off event: On Saturday, powerful models such as the Porsche Carrera RSR, De Tomaso Pantera GTS, and the mighty Ford GT40 will battle it out for 90 minutes. Particularly exciting: classic touring cars such as the Alfa Romeo GTAm, BMW 2002, Ford Escort RS1600, and the rare VW-Porsche 914/6 GT will also feature in the field. Both series have one thing in common: the vehicles must be built in accordance with FIA Appendix K, ensuring an authentic racing experience. More than just racing: a journey through time and an experience for all the sensesIn addition to the exciting races in the touring car and GT classes, visitors to the 52nd BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix can look forward to a varied program that covers the entire spectrum of historic motorsport. A special highlight are the Masters Racing Legends races, where visitors can experience original Formula 1 cars from the Cosworth era (1966–1985) – with their typical sound, classic designs, and a field of drivers reminiscent of the great days of Lotus, Tyrrell, McLaren, and Co. The monoposti of the pre-war and early post-war era, the front-engined racing cars of the HGPCA, also bring the history of Grand Prix racing back to the track. The racing program is complemented by invitation and demonstration runs such as the Vintage Sports Car Trophy and historic motorcycles under the umbrella of “Grab the Flag!” Anyone who wants to experience the thrill of this extraordinary journey back in time in its purest form should secure a ticket early – and then look forward to a weekend full of sound, character, and classic racing action.

BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix 2025: More history, more fascination, more action

03.07.2025

There is just under a month to go until the BELMOT Oldtimer-Grand-Prix, and the starting grids for the 13 races and demo runs are gradually taking shape. The first series organizers can even report a “full house” – and, as is typical for this traditional classic event at the Nürburgring, class and mass, tradition and performance will once again come together this year: A perfect mix for a historic motorsport weekend at its finest. There are some fascinating highlights in the three Formula starting fields, which range from the early days of Grand Prix racing and the infancy of the Formula 1 World Championship to the 1960s and 1980s: this fascinating era can be experienced at first hand with the “racing driving school cars” of the junior classes of the time and the magnificent cars of the Cosworth Formula 1 era (1966 to 1985). From the forefathers of Formula 1 to the 1980sFour free-standing wheels, a driver's seat – and the Formula racing car is ready to go. It quickly became apparent that this simple design principle could be used to create an exciting sport, and so the oldest Grand Prix cars at the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix date back to the pre-war era. They start in the HGPCA (Historic Grand Prix Cars Association), which announces a field of almost 30 front-engined monoposti. They represent the prehistory and early history of Formula 1, which began in 1950. Particularly fascinating: the pre-war Maseratis built between 1933 and 1939 find their successors in the 250F models of the early Formula 1 years. Formula 2 racing cars (which were also allowed to compete in the World Championship at the time) will also be on the starting line from this period, as will British models such as Cooper and Lotus. Of course, the Ferrari 246 Dino, which marked the transition to the early 1960s, is also included: a fast-paced and fascinating journey through time, where even forgotten car manufacturers such as Peirce, Alta, Emeryson, and Scarab can be seen once again. This promises pure racing history, just like the cars of the legendary three-liter Formula 1 (from 1966). When F1 designers were still calling the shots...Ford Cosworth DFV – no other term better sums up the era of Formula 1 between 1966 and 1985. The three-liter V8 engine racked up over 150 Grand Prix victories and was (in various evolutionary stages) the benchmark in the world championship for 19 years. The British racing series “Masters Racing Legends” is bringing these impressive race cars with their distinctive sound back to the Nürburgring. They date back to a time in the premier class when it wasn't the big manufacturers but the small garages that dominated the scene. McLaren, Williams, Arrows, Tyrrell: these names are music to the ears of motorsport fans, and of course the models from these legendary teams will be on display at the Ring. Lotus is also on the list, as it was team boss and founder Colin Chapman himself who was instrumental in the development of the most successful Formula 1 engine of all time. Of course, there were also German drivers in the premier class during this period, such as Rolf Stommelen (1969–1978), Jochen Mass (1973–1982), Manfred Winkelhock (1982–1985), and Stefan Bellof (1984–1985). However, another part of Germany's Grand Prix history is that there has been a race in the premier class here almost every year since 1951. And time and again, the Nürburgring was the venue. Junghans, once again the official timekeeping partner of the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix this year, was also well known in top-class sport in the 1970s. As innovative timekeeping experts, the Black Forest-based company also made a name for itself in Formula 1 at the time – and this year, it is taking over the patronage of the Masters Racing Legends races at the Oldtimer Grand Prix. The winner will even receive one of the strictly limited edition models for the 52nd edition of the OGP as a special award – with a unique commemorative engraving, of course! The “driving school cars” of the stars of yesteryearThe German (and international) Formula 1 stars would not have been able to make their careers without suitable “driving school cars,” and it is precisely these authentic speedsters from Formula 3 and Formula Ford, for example, that are presented in the packed starting field of the Graf Berghe von Trips Cup. The oldest historic racing series in Germany has announced the maximum possible 36 monoposti for the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix, in which world stars and private drivers learned their craft between 1966 and 1992. Among the cars on display will be the original Martini Mk42 that Ivan Capelli drove to the Formula 3 European Championship title in 1984. An Italian championship-winning car driven by Nicola Larini will also be there – the future DTM and Formula 1 driver won the title in the Dallara F356 Alfa Romeo in 1986. German racing history is represented by John Westenberg, who is bringing a Ralt RT30 VW formerly driven by Bertram Schäfer to the Nürburgring, in which Kris Nissen became Formula 3 vice-champion in 1985. Highlights like these show how intensely racing history can be relived here – topped off with exciting races and the wonderful mix of sound and performance of the monoposti. Lavish starting fields for touring cars and GTsThe fact that spectators at the Nürburgring can look forward to full starting fields does not only apply to the formula classes. The two races for touring cars and GTs in the German Historic Automobile Championship (DHAM) were so popular that the organizers of the Historic Championship '65 and '81 had to announce that “nothing more is possible” because the maximum number of vehicles permitted according to the track inspection report had already been reached. This limit has not yet been reached in the sports car starting fields, but fantastic vehicles have been announced that will ensure a unique spectacle on the track, reminiscent of the heyday of sports cars and prototypes. Numerous former racing stars have also registered for the touring car races, which will revive the golden age of the DTM. The first weekend in August is therefore almost a must-attend event.

Nürburgring has a full calendar of events in 2025

12.03.2025

Ready for a full-throttle 2025: the engines will finally start up at the Nürburgring in March. And once again, the event calendar is full to bursting: 60 events make the Eifel race track a worthwhile destination for many good reasons well into the fall. Racing spectacle, festival summer, comedy evening or family outing: the Nürburgring will make hearts beat faster again this year. They belong to the Ring as much as the champagne shower on the podium: crowd-pullers such as the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the DTM, Rock am Ring, the Truck Grand Prix and the Oldtimer Grand Prix will once again attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Eifel this year. A fast-paced mix that includes around 60 public events between March and November alone. Major events alternate with hands-on motor sports and small after-work pleasures, such as the Nürburgring cycling and running club or the Afterwork Classics. One of the highlights will be the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring. On the Corpus Christi weekend (June 19-22), well over 100 race cars will take on the ultimate challenge: 24 hours non-stop on the most demanding track in the world. A spectacle – also because of its passionate fans. Tens of thousands will be camping along the track, creating the unique atmosphere of the Ring. One new feature this year is a particularly family-friendly camping option in the new Family & Friends area. If you enjoy the thrilling and close racing on the Nordschleife, there are many other opportunities to experience racing action in the Green Hell throughout the year at the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series and the RCN circuit racing challenge. The International ADAC Truck Grand Prix is also a real experience. For decades, Germany's truckers have been celebrating Christmas with country music, camping and fast-paced racing. This year, the truckers will be on the loose from July 11 to 13. The traditional music festival has recently undergone a rejuvenation. The revamped Saturday evening program now features well-known party artists, and affordable single-day tickets are available for this event. Europe's most famous racing series, the DTM (August 8-10), will once again be a guest on the Nürburgring's sprint track – and will shine with a wide variety of brands, familiar faces and thrilling racing. Or how about a journey back in time to the last century of motorsport? With the Nürburgring Classic (June 13-15), the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix (August 1-3) and the ADAC 1000 km race (September 20-21), three events are dedicated to historic racing cars. Indoor events from comedy to sportsThere will be plenty of laughter and celebration off the track this year: Comedian Carolin Kebekus will be making a guest appearance in the ring°arena in the fall (September 20) with her celebrated Shesus tour. NightWash Live will also be bringing stand-up comedy to the Nürburgring again this year, on November 15. And at Darts am Ring, some of the world's best dart throwers will transform the ring°arena into a madhouse together with many celebrating darts fans on March 29 – just like at the big role model, the Ally Pally. The Nürburgring Family Day on October 26 and the Job Fair on November 7 and 8 round off the indoor highlights. And because the Nürburgring is not just about watching, other hands-on events are looking forward to motivated participants. Whether on two wheels at Rad am Ring (July 18-20), on foot at the Hotfoot Run (May 10), or with the powerful Gargenschatz at GRIP - das Motorevent (July 6). Speaking of garage treasures: Numerous tourist driving days are planned again for all petrol heads, during which anyone can drive on the ring. The Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit will open their barriers on well over 100 days.
