The Nürburgring highlights in April

01.04.2025

Several dates at the Nürburgring in April are proving to be real visitor magnets. In addition to the well-known motorcycle season opener 'Anlassen' (April 27), thousands of ring fans are traditionally expected in the Eifel region over the entire Easter weekend (April 18-21). The exciting second race of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (April 26) is also taking place – an important test for many teams in preparation for the 24-hour race. The Nürburgring Drift Cup also starts its season on the same weekend (April 26th-27th). Classic car fans also get their money's worth in the fourth month of the year. The After Work Classics invites all owners of historic vehicles to the Grand Prix circuit for the first time in 2025 on April 22nd. A brief overview of the highlights: “Anlassen” motorcycle service | April 27Thousands of motorcyclists and their joint ride over the famous 20.832 kilometers of the Nordschleife: the two-wheeler parade at “Anlassen” is an extraordinary experience for the two-wheeler community every year. This year, the Nürburgring is once again inviting all motorcyclists to the season opener. On Sunday, April 27, thousands of bikers are expected in the Eifel again. From early morning, demonstrations, hands-on activities and various exhibitors will lure visitors to the paddock of the Ring before “Anlassen” reaches its climax: with a special two-wheeler church service and the joint convoy across the famous asphalt of the race track at the end. As every year, admission to the event is free. Easter weekend at the Nürburgring | April 18-21Four days of tourist trips in a row: Easter is traditionally also a celebration for Nürburgring enthusiasts. Both the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit are open to everyone from Good Friday to Easter Monday (April 18 to 21). Visitors can take to the legendary asphalt in their own vehicles all day long. The Easter tourist trips are a real magnet for visitors: thousands of automobile fans from all over the world usually flock to the Eifel for a short vacation during this weekend. And there is also plenty to discover off the track at the Nürburgring destination: driving fun for children and adults on the ring°kart track, family fun with historic racing cars in the ring°werk motorsport adventure museum, fascinating digital action in the Nürburgring eSports Bar – and maybe the Easter Bunny will even leave a little something for loved ones in the ring°fanshop. ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie | April 26Racing action on the legendary Nordschleife: The second race of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) this season will take place on Saturday, April 26, at the most demanding race track in the world. Many top teams have already announced their participation, as it is an important milestone for many of them before the 24-hour race in June. The key points of the NLS: More than 120 race cars at the same time – from the lightning-fast Ferrari GT3 to the production-based BMW – compete in a demanding race over four hours on the combination of the Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit. And the best thing about it is that fans get to be really close. The ticket (adults €25, children under 14 free) includes the paddock, the starting grid and access to the grandstands. Nürburgring Drift Cup | April 26 & 27It's not just since the Fast and Furious movies that car fans have known: perfect drifts are a fine art. Year after year, talented drifts from all over Europe come to the Nürburgring Drift Cup in the Müllenbachschleife. On the traditional section of the Grand Prix circuit, they compete against each other in direct duels in front of critical judges. The high-powered vehicles deliver a great sound backdrop and the pilots give everything for the perfect drift. The first date in 2025 is the last weekend in April, April 26-27, and will be held concurrently with the NürburgringLangstrecken-Serie and the motorcycle church service “Anlassen”. Tickets are already available for 20 euros (adult day ticket). After Work Classics | 22. Successful Season Opener – Tourist Drivers Bring the Roar of Engines Back

10.03.2025

Over the weekend, tourist drivers returned the roar of engines to the Nürburgring under truly perfect conditions. With bright sunshine and temperatures reaching up to 16 degrees Celsius, fans and enthusiasts took their first laps of the season. Thousands of visitors lined the legendary track on both days, soaking in the unique atmosphere of the Ring. The tourist drivers were the first to test sections of the newly resurfaced Nordschleife. Beforehand, the Nürburgring had successfully completed its winter construction work. Fresh asphalt in the Pflanzgarten, Adenauer Forst, and Kesselchen sections ensures top conditions for all drivers throughout the 2025 season. Another premiere at the first tourist driving weekend was the new exit at Döttinger Höhe. "It was a truly successful season opener for us and for all visitors," said Nürburgring Managing Director Ingo Böder. "Both the new exit and the fully operational digital track monitoring system performed excellently. As a result, we were able to maximize traffic flow and safety on the track right from the first weekend." Tourist Drivers Share Their Excitement for the Season StartWith the reopening of the Nordschleife, the legendary Nürburgring asphalt awoke from its winter break—much to the delight of the tourist drivers. "The season is finally back, and so is the Nordschleife! The new exit and digitalization were a great investment and noticeably ease traffic," summarized Christian Scherer from Montabaur, expressing his enthusiasm. US citizen Tom Tisdale, who turned heads on the track with his Corvette, also praised the improvements: "The new asphalt has great grip. You always need a little time to get used to it after the winter, but I quickly got an excellent feel for the car." "The atmosphere was simply incredible," said George Basdos from Greece. "Perfect weather, amazing cars everywhere—the Nürburgring is back, and it feels fantastic!" Dutch content creator Misha Charoudin, who has been at the Nürburgring for ten years, added: "We've never had such great weather for a season opener. The new asphalt sections are a dream, and the new exit works flawlessly." Alongside the track, the thousands of visitors contributed to the typical Nürburgring experience. "At times, it almost felt like Good Friday—so much excitement and great vibes everywhere!" said Viktoria Bochen from Germany. "I really missed the people around the Ring and was thrilled to see so many familiar faces again." Julien from France, who traveled eleven hours just for the first tourist driving weekend, summed up what many were thinking: "If the rest of the season is like this, we're in for a fantastic year!"

A focus on safety – revamped program for motorcyclists at the Nürburgring

20.02.2025

The Nürburgring has restructured its offering for motorcyclists. The most important change is that motorcycles and cars will no longer be on the tracks at the same time. To make the Nürburgring experience particularly safe for bikers, the track operator is introducing professional training and exclusive time slots for two-wheelers from this season onwards. The Nürburgring's tourist rides are a popular attraction for everyone. Anyone with their own vehicle can take a turn on the Grand Prix circuit and the Nordschleife during opening hours. “The safety of all participants is our top priority,” explains Nürburgring Managing Director Ingo Böder, drawing attention to a crucial finding in this context: ”We have taken a very close look at the situation regarding the simultaneous participation of cars and motorcycles in tourist trips.” The analysis revealed that “the different driving dynamics can lead to misunderstandings between two- and four-wheelers,” says Böder. “In this case, motorcyclists are particularly at risk because, unlike car drivers, they have no crumple zone. That is why we have decided to strictly separate cars and motorcyclists in the future and to restructure the offer for bikers so that they can enjoy the Nürburgring experience as safely as possible.” Training with guided driving for motorcyclists on the NordschleifeThe restructuring plan provides for different options for the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit. In the future, motorcyclists will only be able to experience the 21-kilometre Nordschleife under the supervision of trained guides during training sessions and courses. Four full-day sessions will be offered for motorcyclists in 2025. The Motorrad Action Team (July 30-31) and ADAC Doc-Scholl Driver Training (August 13-14) are each organizing full-day training formats for two-wheelers. The subdivision into different groups makes the offer suitable for beginners as well as for very experienced Nordschleife connoisseurs. “These offers enable participants to experience the unique but challenging track under professional guidance and controlled conditions,” explains Ingo Böder. Grand Prix circuit: exclusive motorcycle stints and a wide range of training coursesMotorcyclists can continue to take part in tourist trips on the Grand Prix circuit. On the much more extensive track, bikers will benefit from exclusive stints during opening hours. These can be flexibly arranged according to the daily volume of two-wheelers and can be easily implemented on the 5.1-kilometer-long track. The exclusive stints for two-wheelers should provide a high level of riding comfort and increased safety for bikers thanks to the uniform driving lines. According to current planning, the Grand Prix circuit will open a total of 38 times in 2025. In addition, motorcycle training and track days will also take place here. Under the guidance of Speer Racing and Ducati 4U, there will be nine dates from May to September that are aimed exclusively at bikers. Flexibility and return options for season tickets and creditMotorcyclists who already have a season ticket or a credit balance for the tourist rides can continue to use these for the offer on the Grand Prix circuit. In the future, the personal credit for the Nordschleife can only be used if the driver participates in the tourist trips with a car. Alternatively, the Nürburgring offers the possibility to easily return season tickets or credit. The Nürburgring info°center is available for this return process.

Clear rules apply in accordance with the road traffic regulations to ensure a safe experience. Prices for laps at the Nürburgring remain stableDespite extensive investments in digital track safety and the new exit for tourist drivers, prices remain stable. Construction work at the Nürburgring has begun

25.11.2024

In the coming months, the construction machines at the Nürburgring will be back at full throttle. The annual winter construction work has begun. While a total of around 1.3 kilometers of asphalt will be replaced on the Nordschleife, various maintenance measures are planned for the Grand Prix circuit. At the same time, construction of the new exit for tourist drivers at Döttinger Höhe has begun. In total, the Nürburgring is investing 2.5 million euros this winter to prepare the world-famous track for the 2025 season. On the Nordschleife, the asphalt work this year is focused on two sections of the track. In the Pflanzgarten area, 1.15 kilometers of the track will be renovated from the so-called Eiskurve. In the Kesselchen area, 180 meters of asphalt will be renewed in the right-hand bend just before the “Steilstrecke” section. These measures include the complete renewal of the asphalt surface in order to preserve the unique characteristics of the track while at the same time meeting safety requirements. At the same time, extensive maintenance work is being carried out on the Grand Prix circuit and in the adjacent paddock. To ensure that the versatile event areas continue to offer the best conditions for a smooth running of events ranging from the 24-hour race to Rock am Ring and from the Truck Grand Prix to Rad am Ring, drainage channels, cabling ducts, hydrants and shafts, among other things, are being modernized. New exit for tourist driversA key project this winter is the construction of an additional exit at Döttinger Höhe. This measure is intended to significantly reduce the potential for congestion during the popular tourist trips. In the future, on busy days, it will be possible to exit directly onto the parallel L93 after completing a lap. “The schedule for all three parallel measures is again very tight,” explains Alexander Schnobel, the long-standing project manager for the construction work at the Nürburgring. “Just a few days ago, the season finale of the endurance series and the last day of the Touristenfahrten took place here – now the construction machines have taken over the track. The goal is to hand everything over in perfect condition for the new season. As in motorsport, the same applies here: top performance in the shortest possible time, in all weathers.” All the work should be completed by the beginning of March so that the 2025 season can start at the Nürburgring in good time. The Nürburgring had already communicated the event calendar for the coming year in September. The first race will be the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series on March 22. Traditionally, tourist drivers are allowed on the track during opening hours in the days leading up to the race. The Nürburgring traditionally announces these dates, eagerly awaited by Nordschleife fans, in December.
