Full house with aces and kings at the premiere of the ADAC Ruhrpott Trophy

23.04.2025

The first ADAC Ruhrpott-Trophy takes place this Saturday, April 26, 2025. The event, organized by ADAC Westfalen and MSC Ruhr-Blitz-Bochum, marks the second of ten rounds in the 2025 ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. The race lineup is literally a full house of aces and kings—the preliminary entry list features 140 entries. And there’s more than just the race to talk about: a variety of topics deserve more than a footnote. The support program also impresses with auto and youth kart slalom, offering variety and entertainment. Tickets for the race are available from €25 at VLN.de/tickets. Admission is free for children up to 14 years of age. For those unable to attend in person, the entire race day will be livestreamed here. Cars from 16 different manufacturers will be driven by 357 drivers from 28 nations, including 17 super sports cars in the GT3 SP9 class. Two teams will be entering the "top class" of NLS for the first time this year. Scherer Sport PHX, which has achieved numerous successes with Audi in recent years, is fielding a Porsche 911 GT3 R for the first time. “Entering the top class with a new brand is a challenge we gladly accept,” says team boss Ron Moser. “We’ve put a lot of work into preparing our team for the 911 GT3 R. NLS2 is the next step, where we’ll face competition for the first time. The goal is clear: we want to fight for top positions.” Drivers Patric Niederhauser and Patrick Pilet will alternate at the wheel for Scherer. Hankook Competition is also kicking off their season in the Eifel with a Porsche. Pseudonym drivers ‘JK’ from South Korea and ‘Recardo’ from the Netherlands will share the cockpit with Marco Holzer, who claimed an NLS victory back in 2011. Walkenhorst Motorsport has expanded its entry. The team from Melle near Osnabrück is fielding three Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo cars for the second race—one in the SP9-Pro category with drivers Christian Krognes and Mattia Drudi. In addition, Walkenhorst has a treat for fans of British super sports cars: Niklas Abrahamsen and Hermann Vortkamp will debut the new Aston Martin Vantage GT4 model, presented last year, on the Nordschleife. Green racing in the Green Hell: Notable addition to the AT classA sustainable project will make its debut at the ADAC Ruhrpott-Trophy: Manthey and the Griesemann Group will field the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport M for the first time in the Green Hell. The car will compete on the Nürburgring Nordschleife powered by synthetic gasoline made from methanol. This fuel is produced as part of the DeCarTrans project, a research initiative at TU Bergakademie Freiberg supported by the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport. The fuel belongs to the eFuels category and can be used in existing combustion engines without modifications (drop-in). Based on the Clubsport race car used in GT4 series worldwide, the 'M' model features lightweight construction and optimized aerodynamics. Manthey is using recycled CFRP components from a pre-development project with Porsche Motorsport for testing. “Motorsport and sustainability are not mutually exclusive – and together with Manthey, we’re taking the next step this year. Our experience with eFuels, combined with Manthey’s racing expertise, shows that performance without compromise is possible—while keeping the motorsport atmosphere,” says Björn Griesemann, who is debuting the car with his brother Georg. “The trust of our partners means the world to me, and I’m thrilled about our new car. Driving a Manthey Porsche on the Nürburgring is the fulfillment of a childhood dream.” In the AT class, the Griesemann Cayman will face strong competition. The local heroes from Four Motors, including rapper Smudo and Tom von Löwis, have been advancing sustainability in the Nordschleife championship for years. They are fielding a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and two 718 Cayman GT4 CS cars. Max Kruse Racing is entering no fewer than six biofuel-powered racers, including another 911, two Volkswagen Golf VII, a Golf GTI Clubsport 24h, and two Audi RS3s. Giving up is not an option: Robert Wickens makes another attemptLast year, he didn’t manage to secure his permit in time for the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring. This year, Robert Wickens is trying again—because giving up is not an option for him. The 36-year-old Canadian, best known to German fans from his DTM years as a Mercedes-AMG works driver, has been paraplegic since an IndyCar crash in 2018. In 2022, he returned to racing in the U.S. in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge with a Hyundai Elantra N TCR. His comeback in Germany came in last year’s season opener. Unfortunately, an accident cut his race short, though he escaped uninjured. As a result, he couldn’t complete the required laps for the DMSB Permit Nordschleife. “I tried last year and failed,” Wickens recently shared with fans on Instagram. “Now I’m trying again. I’m racing in NLS to get my permit, so my dream of competing in the 24h Nürburgring this year can finally come true.” Wickens shares the Elantra from Bryan Herta Autosport, equipped with a hand-control system, with American driver Michael Lewis. Spectacular comeback: Ralf Schall is back for moreHe’s one of the most successful drivers in the history of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie. Ralf Schall has racked up 105 class wins, putting him fourth on the all-time list in the 49-year history of the series, behind Volker Strycek (135), Johannes Scheid (134), and Daniel Zils (113). The 55-year-old car dealership owner from Dornstadt is making his comeback at the ADAC Ruhrpott-Trophy. His last appearance in NLS was in 2022. He will share a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in the SP7 class (24h Specials over 3,500 cc) with Julian Reeh and Valentin Lachmayer. On the track, he’ll be racing against his daughter Janina, who is 20 years old and competing with Carrie Schreiner and Beitske Visser in a BMW M4 GT4 for the "Girls Only Team" from GITI Tire Motorsport by WS Racing. Get your tickets now!Tickets for the ADAC Ruhrpott-Trophy are available for €25 (free admission for children up to 14) at vln.de/tickets and at the box office. The ticket grants access to open grandstands at the Grand Prix circuit, exclusive spectator areas at Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten, as well as to the paddock, pit lane, and starting grid. The second round of the NLS Kart Slalom Championship will take place in the Historic Paddock at Nürburgring. At the "helicopter landing pad" in the paddock, a round of the ADAC Mittelrhein Slalom Youngster Cup will also be held. Grid positions will be determined during qualifying from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Fans will experience motorsport with all their senses during the pit walk starting at 10:20 a.m. and the grid visit from 11:10 a.m. Also present on Saturday will be the Nürburgring mascot "Legend" and the spectacular Racebot. The race will start at 12:00 p.m.

Between 8.00 am and 2.15 pm, motorcyclists can also take a few laps of the Grand Prix circuit's sprint track on guided rides (from 25 euros for 3 laps). The band ‘dernächstebitte’ will provide the right sound for the start of the season with a musical stage programme. And the food court will satisfy hunger and thirst. God's blessing and a shared lap of the Nordschleife‘Anlassen’ 2025 provides exciting insights - and shows heart: There is the opportunity to take a look behind the medical scenes of the race track during guided tours of the Nürburgring's state-of-the-art Medical Centre. Immediately afterwards, at 3.30 pm, the unforgettable finale starts: the joint parade around the legendary Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. Thousands of motorbikes set off on the 20.832 kilometre long legendary Nordschleife - always an impressive sight.

All information about Good Friday at the Nürburgring

16.04.2025

All over Germany, car enthusiasts gather in various public places on Good Friday to share their passion. At the Nürburgring, a large crowd is expected again this year when thousands of visitors gather around the track. The Nürburgring operating company is deploying a team of over 150 stewards, security staff and traffic wardens to support the measures and visitor management of the public order office and the police. A central aspect of the close cooperation is the protection of the region and nature from excessive noise and waste. Although there is no event at the Nürburgring on Good Friday, thousands of people come. The fascination of the world-famous race track has also made it a popular destination for tuners on this day. For the Nürburgring, the public order office and the police, there is therefore one thing above all else on the agenda: to control and educate the many visitors accordingly and to punish any infringements. In order to relieve traffic and the local areas, the B412 will be closed in coordination with those responsible at Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG, Landesbetrieb Mobilität, the Ahrweiler district administration and the Mayen police headquarters, the B412 will be opened to through traffic. However, depending on capacity utilization in the Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten areas, traffic may be temporarily closed and diverted. In addition, various traffic circles will be set up so that only straight through traffic is possible. Extensive parking facilities along the Nordschleife and Grand Prix TrackThe Nürburgring will provide extensive parking facilities around the circuit in order to reduce congestion as much as possible. Almost all parking spaces in the A zone near the Grand Prix circuit are open, as well as additional parking spaces in the B zone if required. On the Nordschleife, in addition to the best-known Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten parking lots, other areas in the Schwalbenschwanz and, if all parking areas in Adenau are full, other spaces in the Adenauer Forst will also be open. A large contingent of stewards and additional security personnel will also monitor the ban on barbecues and camping. Traffic violations will be consistently punishedOverall, a high volume of traffic is to be expected in the area of the main access roads to the Nürburgring, in the town of Adenau and in the surrounding villages. The police will be focusing on possible traffic violations, paying particular attention to road safety and vehicle compliance as well as driver behavior. The message from the law enforcement officers is clear: anyone who behaves "out of line" must expect consequences. These may include all-day bans, vehicle seizures or, in individual cases, confiscation of driving licenses. Illegal parking outside designated areas will ultimately lead to the vehicle being towed away for a fee. An overview of the open parking areas: Parking areas Grand Prix Track: A1, A2, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10, B zone if required Parking areas Nordschleife: Brünnchen P96 Pflanzgarten (P97+P98) Schwalbenschwanz P100 Adenauer Forst (opens when all parking areas in Adenau are full)

3,500 fans celebrate “Darts am Ring” – Carolin Kebekus set for September

30.03.2025

The ring°arena at Nürburgring was buzzing with excitement last Saturday evening as 3,500 fans gathered to celebrate the latest edition of “Darts am Ring.” Amidst colorful costumes, euphoric chants, and electrifying matches, darts legend Raymond van Barneveld emerged victorious – a highlight of an evening filled with top-tier sports entertainment. Joining the Dutch champion on stage were some of the biggest names in the darts world: World Champion Rob Cross, fan-favorite “The Rockstar” Joe Cullen, Dirk van Duijvenbode, and local heroes Martin Schindler and Gabriel Clemens. In fast-paced, high-tension “Best-of-Seven” matches, the audience celebrated every point with unbridled enthusiasm. A High-Octane Start for Germany’s No. 1Before stepping onto the stage, Germany’s top darts player Martin Schindler experienced a Nürburgring tradition of a different kind: He got behind the wheel of a real Formula training car on the Grand Prix track, courtesy of the Nürburgring Driving Academy. His reaction? “That’s an experience I’ll never forget. Absolutely incredible,” said Schindler, visibly moved. A perfect example of how the Nürburgring continues to impress – as a motorsport icon and a year-round venue for unique live moments. Energy in the Air – Even Before the First DartThe buzz was already palpable before the first throw: fans snapped selfies with their idols, got in the mood along the ring°boulevard, and then witnessed a very special pre-show highlight. With thunderous applause, darts icon Russ Bray, the unmistakable voice of the sport, took the stage. And when his legendary “One hundred and eighty!” echoed through the arena, it was clear: this evening would be unforgettable. More Live Entertainment Ahead: Carolin Kebekus in SeptemberThe success of “Darts am Ring” once again proves: Nürburgring is more than motorsport. 24h Nürburgring 2025: colorful, diverse, exciting!

29.03.2025

Curtain up for the 53rd edition of the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring from June 19th to 22nd, 2025: The opening event of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) on the penultimate weekend in March was the overture to an epic in many acts at the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife. This year, the strongest GT3 teams, drivers and makes will compete for the coveted 24-hour trophy at the longest race track in the world, which at over 25 km is longer than any other race track in the world. Highlights include the first act in the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers (May 24th-25th) and, of course, the finale furioso in the actual 24h Nürburgring, which is likely to be even more colorful and diverse than before. In addition to the established teams of the German premium manufacturers Audi, BMW, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche, teams with GT3s from Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford and Lamborghini will be making their mark this year. The action at the opening race showed that the supposed “exotic” and “underdogs” are in the thick of the action and will have a say in the awarding of the top positions. If you want to secure your box seat for this spectacle, you can do so now. At the NLS opener, a defending champion was initially in the spotlight. Frank Stippler secured pole position in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 from Juta Racing and showed what is still possible in the already somewhat older GT from Ingolstadt. He led a very colorful field into the warm-up lap before the start: eight different brands took the top ten positions in the first NLS qualifying session of the season. Stippler, for example, was joined on the grid by the Walkenhorst-Aston Martin GT3, followed in rows two and three by the McLaren 720S GT3 from Dörr Motorsport and the Ferrari 296 GT3 from Kondo Racing / Rinaldi.
