Racing, obstacle action, motorcycle season opener: The Nürburgring highlights in April

05.04.2024

Racing action, obstacle challenges, two-wheeled rendezvous: April at the Nürburgring is packed with a wide variety of events. Spectators can look forward to no fewer than four races on the legendary Nordschleife. Thousands of motorcyclists are expected to attend the traditional two-wheeler season opener at the end of the month. The Nürburgring Drift Cup also kicks off its season. And even without engine power, there is plenty of sporting action on the Ring: in addition to the "Hotfoot Run", a spectacular obstacle course, athletes from all over Germany come together for the German Judo Individual Championships in the ring°arena. The events at a glance: ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (April 6 & 7)ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers (April 13 & 14)Four races, two weekends, one legendary race track: The ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers (April 13 & 14) and the double-header of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (April 6 & 7) will provide thrilling racing in the Green Hell this month. The basics: Around 100 cars will compete in four-hour races. High-speed GT cars from major manufacturers share the track with near-series touring cars from passionate petrolheads. Their arena: the longest permanent race track in the world. More than 20 kilometers long, it winds its way through the Eifel forests. And best of all: spectators can get right up close. Into the pit lane and the starting grid before the race - there is no better place to take souvenir photos. A highlight is the Saturday race of the 24h Qualifiers. This race continues well into the evening. Anticipation for the popular 24h race at the beginning of June is guaranteed. By the way: VIP tickets are also on sale for both events - with lounge access, treats, expert guides and other exclusive program items. Motorcycle season opening "Anlassen" (April 28)The Nürburgring in biker hands: the traditional "Anlassen" will take place on Sunday, April 28. Three items on the program are also a must at the motorcycle season opening at the Nürburgring in 2024: Firstly, the traditional blessing of the two-wheelers and their machines - combined with the request for a safe journey at all times. Secondly, the joint parade on the Nürburgring Nordschleife: thousands of bikers take a leisurely lap of the most beautiful 20.832 kilometers in the world - an extraordinary experience for the motorcycling community every year. And the colorful hustle and bustle in the paddock of the Grand Prix circuit is not to be missed: More than 20 exhibitors have announced their presence. Two-wheeler shows and demonstrations are also planned again. And best of all: admission to "Anlassen" is free of charge. Hotfoot Run (April 27) On the track, get set, go: at the Hotfoot Run, various obstacles on and off the asphalt are ready to be mastered by the participants. Several thousand runners take part in the obstacle course on the Ring every year. Participants can choose between three routes: 6, 12 or 24 kilometers. Along the way, obstacles with names such as "Spiderman", "Dip Dip Hurra" or "Stairway to heaven" stand in their way. But between the mud, pain and sporting ambition, the Hotfoot Run ultimately focuses on one thing above all: having fun together. Registrations for this year's event on Saturday, April 27, are still being accepted online, with special rates for students and young people. Nürburgring Drift Cup (April 6 & 7)A feast for drifters: the Nürburgring Drift Cup is the first race of the year. In the Müllenbachschleife of the Grand Prix circuit, hot door-to-door duels are once again guaranteed on Saturday and Sunday, April 6 and 7. The Drift Cup reaches its climax with spectacular battles in which two drivers compete directly against each other. Whoever convinces the judges more is through to the next round. The loser can pack up. Tickets are available online at affordable prices, with discounts for young people up to the age of 17. German Judo Individual Championships (April 13 & 14) The Nürburgring's ring°arena is a true multifunctional talent. Around 3,500 fans have just celebrated the stars of flying darts in the hall at Darts am Ring, and the next event - in the truest sense of the word - is already on the mat. Several hundred judoka from all over Germany will be competing in the German Judo Individual Championships. They are looking for the best athletes in the country in all age groups over 30. If you would like to see the spectacle on Saturday or Sunday, April 13 and 14: just drop by, admission to the ring°arena is free. Easter 2024 at the Nürburgring

27.03.2024

There is something for everyone at the Nürburgring around Easter: As is well known, the weekend is traditionally dominated by tourist drives. From Good Friday (March 29) up to and including Easter Monday (April 1), the Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit open their doors to everyone every day. In addition, there is plenty to experience at the Nürburgring as a destination around Easter and the subsequent vacation period. An overview:Four days of tourist driving in a row: Easter is traditionally also a festival for Nürburgring enthusiasts. Both the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit are open to everyone. Cars and motorcyclists can take to the legendary asphalt all day long - subject to road traffic regulations. Further information on the tourist rides can be found here. But there are also numerous HeartRace moments at the Nürburgring destination off the track at Easter and during the subsequent vacation period: experience family fun on the ring°kart track, marvel at historical exhibits in the ring°werk adventure museum, admire fascinating digital action in the Nürburgring eSports Bar or try on the new Nürburgring collection in the fan store. There is something to experience every day around the ring°boulevard on the Grand Prix Track.  And because all this makes you hungry and thirsty: numerous restaurants at the Nürburgring will make tired men, moms and mini-racing fans feel lively again. Opposite the ring°boulevard, guests are spoiled for choice: LUCIA - Pollo Italiano serves dolce vita and fresh chicken made to an Italian recipe, while the Bitburger Gasthaus next door offers home-style cooking and an outdoor terrace with a great view. The view from the Devil's Diner is at least as good: located on the access road to the Nordschleife on the outskirts of Nürburg, visitors have a perfect view of the action during the tourist races at Easter.

Nürburgring prepared for rush of visitors on Good Friday

22.03.2024

All over Germany, car enthusiasts gather in various public places on Good Friday to share their passion. At the Nürburgring, a large crowd is expected again this year when thousands of visitors gather around the track. The Nürburgring operating company is deploying a team of over 150 stewards, security staff and traffic wardens to support the measures and visitor management of the public order office and the police. A central aspect of the close cooperation is the protection of the region and nature from excessive noise and waste. Although there is no event at the Nürburgring on Good Friday, thousands of people come. The fascination of the world-famous race track has also made it a popular destination for tuners on this day. For the Nürburgring, the public order office and the police, there is therefore one thing above all else on the agenda: to control and educate the many visitors accordingly and to punish any infringements. In order to relieve traffic and the local areas, the B412 will be closed in coordination with those responsible at Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG, Landesbetrieb Mobilität, the Ahrweiler district administration and the Mayen police headquarters, the B412 will be opened to through traffic. However, depending on capacity utilization in the Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten areas, traffic may be temporarily closed and diverted. In addition, various traffic circles will be set up so that only straight through traffic is possible. Extensive parking facilities along the Nordschleife and Grand Prix TrackThe Nürburgring will provide extensive parking facilities around the circuit in order to reduce congestion as much as possible. Almost all parking spaces in the A zone near the Grand Prix circuit are open, as well as additional parking spaces in the B zone if required. On the Nordschleife, in addition to the best-known Brünnchen and Pflanzgarten parking lots, other areas in the Schwalbenschwanz and, if all parking areas in Adenau are full, other spaces in the Adenauer Forst will also be open. A large contingent of stewards and additional security personnel will also monitor the ban on barbecues and camping. Traffic violations will be consistently punishedOverall, a high volume of traffic is to be expected in the area of the main access roads to the Nürburgring, in the town of Adenau and in the surrounding villages. The police will be focusing on possible traffic violations, paying particular attention to road safety and vehicle compliance as well as driver behavior. The message from the law enforcement officers is clear: anyone who behaves "out of line" must expect consequences. These may include all-day bans, vehicle seizures or, in individual cases, confiscation of driving licenses. Illegal parking outside designated areas will ultimately lead to the vehicle being towed away for a fee. An overview of the open parking areas: Parking areas Grand Prix Track: A2, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10, B zone if required Parking areas Nordschleife: Brünnchen P96 Pflanzgarten (P97+P98) Schwalbenschwanz P100 Adenauer Forst (opens when all parking areas in Adenau are full)

Nürburgring and "Friends of the Nürburgring": Investment of € 50,000 in the jobs of the sports stewards

10.10.2023

With a total investment of 50,000 euros, the stands and workplaces of the sports stewards along the Nordschleife were refurbished this season. The workplaces at a total of 33 posts have been upgraded through various measures. The measure was supported by the "Friends of the Nürburgring" association. The latter contributed 15,000 euros as an earmarked donation. Sports stewards are the good souls of motorsports. Their tasks around the race track are manifold - they ensure safety and a correct sporting procedure. Sports stewards wave the different colored flags that send important signals to the racers, they intervene if a vehicle has an accident or a vehicle part is lost, and they are at the track for every race: in wind, sun, and rain. "Without the sports stewards, the events at our racetrack would not be so feasible. Their dedication and passion for motorsport is what makes it all possible," explains Andreas Klapperich, Team Leader Track Operations & Safety at the Nürburgring. "That's why upgrading the stands and workstations is not only necessary but also a matter of the heart." After several small improvements in previous years, a larger investment followed this season. The project, which totaled 50,000 euros, included various large and small measures and works - from a new plexiglass screen at the track marshal shelter to new metal stairs for fast and safe operation. "We supported the upgrading of the stand and workplaces of the sports marshals out of deep conviction," explains Manfred Sattler, chairman of the "Friends of the Nürburgring" association. "For years, we have been committed to the Nürburgring as a legendary race track and to all those who contribute here full of energy. The sports officials are undoubtedly one of them - and therefore it was no question that we contribute €15,000 here."
