From August 1 to 3, 2025, the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix will bring the full spectrum of historic motorsport to the Nürburgring: At the 52nd edition of this traditional event, visitors will experience more than two dozen races and demo runs with vehicles from nine decades – from the pre-war era to the Cosworth Formula 1 cars of the 70s and 80s to sports prototypes from the early 2000s. Highlights include the atmospheric evening race featuring iconic sports cars from the 1950s and 1960s, legendary touring cars from DTM history, the spectacular cars of the German Racing Championship (DRM), and a revival of the Super Touring Cars (STW). Also new to the program are historic motorcycles and Porsche racing cars from the Golden Era Classic Cup. Autograph sessions, auctions, and club meetings make the OGP 2025 a classic weekend full of emotion, speed, and history. Tickets are available here. The sporting highlight of the weekend will be the twelve historic racing classes. With Formula 1 from the Cosworth era (1966–1985), the premier class returns to the Ring in retro style, bringing with it some real milestones in Grand Prix history to the Eifel region. The German Racing Championship (DRM) thrills with roaring sounds and turbo power. The touring cars of the Golden Era bring a strong field to the track, including prominent former DTM drivers such as Kris Nissen, Roland Asch, Kurt Thiim, Volker Strycek, and Altfrid Heger. The evening race for two-seater GTs and racing cars up to 1971, featuring a host of top-class vehicles, offers real Le Mans flair at dusk on Saturday. New to the program: the Revival STW and the Porsche Classic Cup. With the bikes of the “Grab the Flag!” drivers' association, motorcycle history will also be prominently represented again in 2025 for the first time. Icons on wheels – motorsport history you can touchThe BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix brings legendary vehicles back together again. Touring cars, GTs, formula and sports cars showcase the full diversity of almost 100 years of racing history. The evening race will feature automotive icons such as the Porsche 904 GTS, Mercedes 300 SL, Aston Martin DB4 GT, Ferrari 250 GT SWB, and Lola T70. In the DRM Revival, the Zakspeed Capri Turbo and BMW M1 Procar, among others, will give spectators goose bumps. The Formula 1 races bring real automotive history to the track with the groundbreaking Lotus 78 (the first ground-effect car) and the McLaren M26 (James Hunt's winning car). And the list goes on and on: hardly any other event offers such a wealth of motoring history. A classic festival to fall in love withEven away from the track, the OGP is a festival for visitors. In the open paddock, you can experience the classics up close, including petrol talk and selfie opportunities. Numerous exhibitors present rarities, accessories, literature, and technology. 33rd Cologne Course – An “Eifel Crime Thriller”

27.07.2025

The offer from the Nürburgring for a two-day event on the Cologne circuit in July was an opportunity for MSC Porz to hold the Cologne circuit event in better weather than in May/June. It also meant that several interesting vintage motorcycle groups could be integrated into the two-day event. Saturday's practice runs took place in dry, beautiful Eifel weather, promising an interesting day of competition on Sunday! The closely packed races in the various classes began on Sunday at 8:00 a.m., with the weather forecast looking good, but this changed quite “punctually” at 9:00 a.m. to what is known as “Eifel weather.” As the rain increased, the track became wet and could only be “enjoyed” with caution by the fast motorcycles. The start times for the individual classes in the competition sequence had to be postponed several times until the race track finally had to be closed for almost two hours for safety reasons. As some classes were therefore unable to complete their first race, the entire schedule for the second races in the afternoon had to be changed to allow at least one race for each class. As is typical for the “weather thriller” in the Eifel region, and here in particular at the Nürburgring, the track had dried out enough by 1:30 p.m. that the races could resume with a completely revised schedule. First, the very fast sidecars from the years up to 1983 thrilled the crowd with a fascinating competition, which was met with enthusiastic applause in the paddock after the race. However, after this race, which was again for the other classes, the weather remained fairly stable, allowing the event to continue until the last race of the revised schedule. Despite all these negative and unforeseeable influences, the two-day event can be considered a success, which, with good weather, would certainly have been a real highlight of the classic motorcycle racing scene and one that could be repeated.

BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix 2025: The best tips for visitors

23.07.2025

The BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix from August 1 to 3, 2025, is much more than just a race weekend for historic vehicles. Visitors can expect a genuine motorsport festival with countless classic vehicles, and there will be plenty to see off the race track as well. In the paddock and other areas of the traditional Eifel race track, guests of all ages will be amazed. There will be emotional reunions at autograph sessions, technical fascination with automotive works of art from all eras, and first-hand information. A special experience is the tour of the paddock, which is included with every ticket. This year, it even extends into the Mercedes Arena – with hundreds of vehicles, teams, exhibitors, and other attractions. Highlights on the race track itself include demonstrations of the classic Le Mans start, the atmospheric evening race for two-seater sports cars and GTs up to 1971, Formula 1 cars from the Cosworth era, and the premiere of a single-make super touring car race. Test drives with pre-war racing cars and historic motorcycles are also on offer, as is the Nordschleife, which invites visitors to take a closer look. Prominent drivers will also be getting back behind the wheel in the “Touring Car Golden Era” races and can be seen up close during the big autograph sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Classic car auction at the ring°boulevardClassicbid takes center stage on the covered promenade of the ring°boulevard: around 100 classic cars will go under the hammer here over the weekend. Everyone can join in the excitement at the live auction on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. And if you want, you can also register as a bidder on site. Even outside of the auction, the stand is worth a visit – the vehicles will be on display throughout the weekend. Historic paddock: a journey through timeThe historic paddock is home to the oldest vehicles of the weekend in their original setting: this year, the pre-war racing cars of the Vintage Sports Car Trophy will be joined by the historic motorcycles of “Grab the Flag!” A special exhibit: an Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider that competed in the 1971 96-hour race at the Nürburgring. The driver at the time, Hanno Schumacher (85), will also be there. Grand Prix paddock: brands, stars, and great partnersThe heart of the event will once again beat in the Grand Prix paddock this year. This is where all the participating teams can be found with their racing cars – from Formula 1 cars to touring cars. Relaxation areas with a wide range of catering options invite visitors to linger. At the same time, the paddock features merchandising stands, specialist literature, model cars, accessories, memorabilia, and much more: a treasure trove for enthusiasts.  And, of course, this is where you can meet the teams and drivers in person – including the chance for a spontaneous chat about cars, a selfie, or an autograph. The partners of the Oldtimer Grand Prix also contribute to the variety. Title sponsor BELMOT will be on hand throughout the weekend to personalize visitors' newly purchased OGP polo shirts and racing sweaters.  The voucher is included with the purchase of an official OGP polo shirt. On Saturday at 3:00 p.m., the insurer invites visitors to the premiere of its new podcast series “BELMOT & Friends on the road” at its stand in the paddock. Later, from 6:30 p.m., there will be live music at the BELMOT stand party. Junghans is also back as the official timekeeping partner. The watch brand is celebrating its tenth anniversary as timekeeping partner in 2025 and has two exclusive special models in strictly limited editions: The 1972 Automatic and the 1972 Chronoscope will be available in editions of only 52 pieces each – a reference to the 52nd edition of the Oldtimer Grand Prix. Other fine timepieces will also be on display at the stand right next to the award podium – along with an original BMW M1 from the renowned Steim collection. Not far away, media partner Motor Klassik will also be present with its large tent. This year, for the first time, there will be a special exhibition of historic racing motorcycles, complemented by selected automobiles: A Porsche 924 will be presented to the winner of the Motor Klassik Readers' Award 2025 on Saturday evening. There will also be a 1987 Alpina BMW M3 that was once driven by Ellen Lohr and Andreas Bovensiepen at the Brno Grand Prix. And those who settle down here for coffee and cake may also experience the big autograph sessions (Sat, 12:30 p.m. and Sun, 11:30 a.m.) with prominent drivers from the “Golden Era of Touring Cars.” The fuel experts from Aspen will also be back in the paddock, presenting their classic car-friendly fuel, Aspen Classic Fuel. Racing teams will also be able to test the fuel's practicality over the weekend, as the manufacturer is giving away 2,000 liters of fuel free of charge to participants. Visitors can also take part in the Aspen Challenge: Four pairs of weekend tickets for the OGP 2026 will go to those who can hold a filled 5-liter canister horizontally with their arm outstretched for the longest time. The task is a little less strenuous at sim racing specialist Racewerk, where visitors can climb into the virtual cockpit of a high-end racing simulator. Attractions everywhereThe top brand clubs gather in the Mercedes Arena. This is also where you will find the BELMOT Service Point, which offers practical support for active participants. There are also other attractions to discover around the track. The Nordschleife is always full of eye-catching vehicles on two and four wheels – during the track day on Friday or during club rides and pre-war demonstrations on the weekend. Other brand clubs are represented in the parking lots around the start/finish line. Tip: Ongrid app offers results and informationAll information about the event, including the schedule and ticket shop, is available online at oldtimergrandprix.com. Rad am Ring: Outstanding atmosphere in the Green Hell

20.07.2025

Cycling (almost) around the clock was witnessed and experienced by participants and spectators on-site and at home at Rad am Ring 2025. Referred to as “a celebration on every level” by head organizer Hanns-Martin Fraas, the event impressed with both proven and new elements – and set a new participation record. Discipline and Disciplines“It was brilliant, both in terms of weather conditions and everything else,” sums up event director Hanns-Martin Fraas with satisfaction. Behind him, the participants and the organizational crew lie two and a half days and one night of pure cycling – with perfect conditions, without torrential rain and in a great atmosphere. “I’m thrilled by the discipline of 98 percent of our participants,” enthuses Hanns Martin Fraas. They adhered meticulously to the rules not only in the 24h-pits and camp but for the most part also on the racecourse. “Fairness first” being the motto of almost 12,000 cycling fans who tackled the Nürburgring in the traditional prologue time trial, the tried-and-tested amateur races, the new gravel races and the popular youth races, the relaxed touring rides, and the centerpiece of the event – the 24-hour races for teams or solo riders: a record number of participants! With 6,300 endurance enthusiasts tackling the already fully booked Rad-am-Ring signature discipline – the most ever – both at the mass start on Saturday, during the night-time light spectacle on Sunday, and especially at the finish line, waves of emotion erupted among athletes, spectators and the organizing team. The Rad-Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon concluded a real cycling festival with outstanding atmosphere. An event whose success was ensured by many hands: “All worked together superbly again. Team, volunteers, service providers, partners – they all contributed to making Rad am Ring what it is,” says head of organization Hanns-Martin Fraas, who openly admits that there were some crashes at Rad am Ring. The Nürburgring’s experienced first responder team of DRK Ahrweiler was mainly busy during the amateur races, though. Results of the 24-hour races | As of July 20, 2025, 14:30 p. m. In the solo road bike category, Rick Steffen (GER) of ROSE Racing Team completed the most laps with 28 – repeating his victory from the previous year. Sascha Hubbert (GER) of Edelhelfer Racing Team and Niklas Wellmann (GER) of MOFA Münster each rode 26 laps. With 24 laps apiece came Thomas Wiedemann (GER) from pester pac automation, Alexander Koch (GER) from TV Attendorn, and Stefan Wauters (BEL) from Grandfondoteam.be. In the women’s solo category, the winner is also a familiar face: Yvonne Margraf (GER) secured first place again, as in 2024, this time with 24 laps. Behind her came Nora Battermann (GER) with 20 laps, and Morena Nogherotto (GER) rounded off the women’s podium with 18 laps. In the category teams of two, #PNCHRS! (BEL) circled the ring 30 times, the highest count. Three duos followed with 29 laps each: Wildrad & Co (GER), pester pac automation (GER), and Örebrocyklisterna (SWE). Hofmann Radteam 1 (GER) finished with 28 laps. The Paul Lange Cycling Crew Girls (GER) and Altfrid Fighter 1 (GER) each logged 24 laps, but the Crew Girls were marginally faster, crowning themselves winners in the women’s team of two category. Örebrocyklisterna (SWE) and Die Prallen Schläuche 4 (GER) each completed 22 laps, as did Raketen-MT-Melsungen/RSC-Werne. In the results of the teams of four category Team Strassacker (ITA) finished first with 34 laps, as they did last year. Ahrbike-Willerscheid (GER) came in one lap behind. Ledschends (RSA) and RTS-Electronic (GER) each rode 32 laps.By a half-minute ahead of Girls on the fast track (GER), the Piscina Ciclistas (ITA) crossed the finish line as the first of our female teams of for – both rode 27 laps. Behind them finished Drückerbande – Le Frecce (GER) and Thömus | WindowMaster by Wyss Training Ladies (UIS) with 26 laps each. AthletesLab Team 3 (GER), Zappes Radler x Friends II (GER), Fahrrad XXL (GER), and 3200 Watt (NED) each completed 25 laps around the Nürburgring. “The more, the better” applies in the category teams of eight for both in terms of number of riders and laps. As in 2024, Ledschends – RH77/BMC/Oakley/Factory Team (AUT) took the lead with 34 laps. Ledschends Plattos (GER) and the Ahrbike – Willerscheid Team 2 each finished with 32 laps. AVIA I (GER) and Fahrrad XXL (GER) both completed 31 laps. In the women’s category, the winning team’s name says it all: Female Cycling Force (GER) completed 26 laps – slightly quicker than the AVIA women (GER) who also rode 26 laps. Puky Factory Racing (GER) with 25 laps and SIG Koblenz – Racing Ladies (GER) with 23 laps followed behind. Rad-Bundesliga as the closing highlight at the RingIt has almost become a tradition that licensed riders show what they’re capable of after the amateur athletes at the Nürburgring. Again in 2025, the Rad-Bundesliga visited the Green Hell, providing final thrills of atmosphere and speed over nearly 110 kilometers and 2,600 meters of elevation gain at the end of a dazzling cycling weekend.  About Rad am RingRad am Ring has taken place at the Nürburgring since 2003. The course runs both through the state-of-the-art Formula 1 arena and over the legendary Nordschleife. The centerpiece consists of 24-hour races on the traffic-free, partially illuminated race circuit, with team quarters in the pit lane and along the track. Saturday’s amateur races are part of the German Cycling Cup, Germany’s largest series of amateur races. Since 2018, Rad am Ring has also offered non competitive touring rides under the slogan “cycling fun for everyone,” and as of this year there is also a gravel race over three distances.

Until November, a total of four exciting races await the participants and fans. In addition to trophies and prize money of more than 1,000 euros, the best participants can also look forward to wildcards for the 2025/2026 DNLS Winter Season, in which professional teams and drivers from the real Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie will also be competing. Around 120 sim racers have announced their participation in the first race of the season. With Norbert Kiss, who recently extended his winning streak in the European Championship at the Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, a well-known name is drawing attention to the DNLS Community Cup. The Hungarian racing driver will compete in the SP9 class with a Ford Mustang GT3. Also returning are Sven Winter and Michael Teusch, the champions of the DNLS 24/25 season. BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix 2025: The legends of touring car racing are returning

16.07.2025

From August 1 to 3, the 52nd BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring invites visitors to take a high-caliber journey through the history of motorsport, featuring numerous racing series, prominent drivers, and legendary vehicles. Once again, the touring car classes are particularly well represented this year: Numerous DTM heroes will be making their comeback in the “Golden Era Touring Car” races. The iconic two-litre super touring cars will also be competing in their own race for the first time. Together with the spectacular DRM Revival and many other races and demo runs from the pre-war era to the early 2000s, the weekend offers automotive diversity, powerful sounds and pure emotion.  DTM heroes back on the trackThey are among the most popular classics in historic motorsport: the touring cars of the 1980s and 1990s. When these legends meet at the Nürburgring, goose bumps are guaranteed. This year, numerous former DTM greats will be providing a special reunion. Kris Nissen will be at the start in a BMW E30 M3. DTM legend Roland will be sharing a Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth he built himself with his son Sebastian. Volker Strycek and Kurt Thiim, two other influential figures in DTM history, will also be there. Multiple WTCC champion Yvan Muller will be making his first appearance at the Oldtimer Grand Prix – a real highlight for international touring car fans. And there will even be visitors from Australia: John Bowe, former V8 Supercars champion, is traveling to the event to cause a stir in a Volvo 240 Turbo. Altfrid Heger could also do the same in a rare Audi 200 M8. Henry Walkenhorst is not only an active endurance specialist at the start, but also a former DTM team boss, and the list of ex-DTM drivers is rounded off by Volker Schneider and Marc Hessel. These drivers not only stand for thrilling motorsport, but also for living history, presented with magnificent racing cars. There will be a reunion with the BMW M3, Mercedes 190 EVO, Sierra Cosworth, and many other unforgettable racing cars. For many fans, these names are legendary – and they can look forward not only to thrilling motorsport, but also to a big autograph session in the tent of media partner Motor Klassik. The races on Saturday and Sunday are must-see events for anyone who loves the classic sound and unmistakable appearance of these racing cars. Group 5 power at the DRM RevivalMotorsport history is also impressively revived in the German Racing Championship, with a fascinating mix of two- to four-liter racing cars, including numerous vehicles from the spectacular Group 5. And the field of these rare vehicles continues to grow: this year, eleven Group 5 racing cars will compete against each other – more than ever before at the BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix. Fan favorite Peter Mücke, serial winner of previous editions of the race, will once again be bringing his powerful Ford Capri Turbo to the starting line, where he will face competition from the Griesemann family's Porsche 935 K3, various BMW 320 Group 5 cars, and rare exotics such as the Ford Remus Capri and the BMW 2002 Group 5. The DRM starting field will be complemented by classics such as the Opel Manta, BMW 635 CSI and De Tomaso Pantera – a tribute to the golden era of German racing, powerful, loud and unmistakable. Full house in the battle for the German Historic Car ChampionshipThe touring car, GT, and sports car races, which count toward the German Historic Car Championship, also offer plenty of action and treats for classic car enthusiasts. The Historic Championships '65 and '81 feature starting fields that reflect the diversity of European motorsport history in all its glory. The two races of the Historic Championship '65 will feature iconic vehicles such as the Jaguar E-Type, the Shelby Cobras, various Lotus Elan and Elite models, as well as fascinating one-offs such as an Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato and a Lister Jaguar Knobbly. While these older vehicles will compete in two 30-minute races on Saturday and Sunday, the Historic Championship '81 will be a one-off event: On Saturday, powerful models such as the Porsche Carrera RSR, De Tomaso Pantera GTS, and the mighty Ford GT40 will battle it out for 90 minutes. Particularly exciting: classic touring cars such as the Alfa Romeo GTAm, BMW 2002, Ford Escort RS1600, and the rare VW-Porsche 914/6 GT will also feature in the field. Both series have one thing in common: the vehicles must be built in accordance with FIA Appendix K, ensuring an authentic racing experience. More than just racing: a journey through time and an experience for all the sensesIn addition to the exciting races in the touring car and GT classes, visitors to the 52nd BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix can look forward to a varied program that covers the entire spectrum of historic motorsport. A special highlight are the Masters Racing Legends races, where visitors can experience original Formula 1 cars from the Cosworth era (1966–1985) – with their typical sound, classic designs, and a field of drivers reminiscent of the great days of Lotus, Tyrrell, McLaren, and Co. The monoposti of the pre-war and early post-war era, the front-engined racing cars of the HGPCA, also bring the history of Grand Prix racing back to the track. The racing program is complemented by invitation and demonstration runs such as the Vintage Sports Car Trophy and historic motorcycles under the umbrella of “Grab the Flag!” Anyone who wants to experience the thrill of this extraordinary journey back in time in its purest form should secure a ticket early – and then look forward to a weekend full of sound, character, and classic racing action.

Truck Efficiency Run powered by KRONE: strong start for a new format

16.07.2025

The first Truck Efficiency Run powered by KRONE got off to a successful start at the International ADAC Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. Organized by ADAC Mittelrhein and ETRA Promotion, the competition gave drivers from all over Europe the chance to demonstrate their skills. In the three categories – diesel, LNG, and electric – the aim was to drive the most efficient lap on the Nordschleife under realistic conditions. The competition impressively demonstrated that it is not only drive technology that counts, but above all driving style. Strategy, precision, and a good feel for the vehicle are crucial when it comes to getting the most out of the truck. The competition impressively demonstrated that it is not only the drive technology that counts, but above all the driving style. Strategy, precision, and a good feel for the vehicle are crucial when it comes to exploiting the full efficiency potential of a truck. It was a new situation for the drivers: a competition, an unfamiliar environment, a legendary track – and all under observation. The palpable stage fright had an impact on some of the results. However, all participants demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and the will to take on this new challenge. “The Truck Efficiency Run powered by KRONE puts the driver in the spotlight and shows how much skill, precision, and strategy are needed to exploit efficiency potential,” said Georg Fuchs, Managing Director of ETRA. “The positive response shows us that this concept has struck a chord.” The feedback was overwhelmingly positive – many would like to participate again. This includes Dominik Kabelitz from Spedition Koch International, who came second in the electric class: “Thank you for a great weekend. The organization and execution were fantastic, and the event left a lasting impression. I would love to come back.” After the competition, the drivers were able to enjoy the entire Truck Grand Prix weekend – with racing action, festival flair, and the special community that makes the Nürburgring a meeting place for the scene every year. The Truck Efficiency Run 2025 has shown the potential of this format – for the drivers, for the industry, and for the future of sustainable freight transport. Further information is available here.

134,000 motorsport fans celebrate the 38th International ADAC Truck Grand Prix

13.07.2025

134,000 spectators can't be wrong: the 38th International ADAC Truck Grand Prix once again proved its uniqueness at the Nürburgring over the weekend. In summer weather, truckers and once again many families enjoyed the special mix of thrilling motorsport, an informative trade fair, and a lively festival atmosphere. "The response is simply overwhelming. My special thanks go to the many motorsport fans from Germany and abroad who created a great atmosphere at the Nürburgring. I would also like to thank our partners and sponsors and, above all, the numerous volunteers. Without their dedicated commitment, an event of this magnitude would not have been possible," said Rudi Speich, Chairman of ADAC Mittelrhein e.V.The exciting races of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship took place on the shortened Grand Prix circuit, which was also the sporting highlight of the event. Drivers from Germany, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, and Great Britain once again demonstrated how precisely they can control their 1,000 hp race trucks. Kiss dominates the European Championship races once againHungarian Norbert Kiss was once again the dominant force in the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship races at the Nürburgring. He ultimately won two of the four races and came third twice. Kiss had already successfully announced his ambitions in the first race, winning ahead of Jochen Hahn and his son Lukas. Behind them, several drivers engaged in thrilling battles for position: Local hero Sascha Lenz finished sixth. In the second race on Saturday, Spain's Antonio Albacete celebrated his first victory of the season. He had previously been involved in a thrilling duel with René Reinert, whom he ultimately managed to outpace. Norbert Kiss finished third. In the third race, Kiss once again secured an unchallenged start-to-finish victory. The battle for the remaining places was more exciting: Jahn secured second place ahead of Albacete. Lenz missed the podium by just one and a half seconds and finished fourth. The four races of the Dutch Truck Racing ADAC Mittelrhein Cup were won by Erwin Kleinnagelvoort (NED), Jock Borthwick (GBR) and Simon Reid (GBR) twice. For several years now, the Truck Grand Prix has also featured the ADAC GT Masters drivers, who race around the Grand Prix circuit in their 550 hp Lamborghinis, Mercedes AMG, BMWs, and Porsches. The first race on Saturday was won by Alexander Schwarzer and Alexander Fach in a Porsche ahead of Finn Wiebelhaus and Salman Owega in a Ford and Finn Zulauf/Simon Connor Primm (Lamborghini). Great party atmosphere in the MüllenbachschleifeThe high-caliber music festival in the Müllenbachschleife has, of course, always been part of the ADAC Truck Grand Prix. Music fans, families, and truckers once again got their money's worth here. Unbelievable but true: on Friday evening, country legend Tom Astor celebrated his 37th consecutive appearance. He was joined by Alina Sebastian, Sascha Salvati, and The Wild Ride. On Saturday evening, party and pop stars Loona, Malle Anja, Markus Becker, and Sabbotage took to the stage. The spectacular fireworks display in the Müllenbachschleife was once again the highlight for many truckers. Premiere: Truck Efficiency Run and RetroCampA premiere on the Nordschleife: as part of the ADAC Truck Grand Prix, “normal” truck drivers from all over Germany drove their 40-ton trucks over the legendary track for the first time, not against the clock, but as fuel-efficiently as possible. Whether diesel, electric, or LNG trucks – the winner of the Truck Efficiency Run was the driver who came closest to or beat the manufacturer's fuel consumption figures. The aim of the competition was to raise awareness of fuel-efficient driving and highlight the influence of driving style on efficiency. Another new feature was the RetroCamp in the historic paddock. Vintage trucks, memorabilia, and cult videos took visitors back to the early years of the Truck Grand Prix. Racing legend Heinz-Werner Lenz was there, as was the “Rentnerband” from Ochtendung, who provided music and charm to keep the mood lively. There is hardly any other event where fans can get as close to their idols as at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix: in the paddock, they were once again able to chat with the truck stars, ask for autographs, and watch the mechanics working on the race trucks. In addition to the paddock, there was also a large event area and an impressive exhibition park this year. In the event area and children's land, families with children enjoyed many attractions and competitions, bouncy castles, and duck rodeo. Top decision-makers in the industry at commercial vehicle trade fair & truck symposiumFor almost four decades, the ADAC Truck Grand Prix has also been a meeting place for top decision-makers from the commercial vehicle and logistics industry. Everyone who is anyone is here. On all days of the event, renowned companies such as Daimler Truck, Iveco, MAN, Renault Trucks, Scania, Ford Trucks, Krone, and Schmitz Cargobull presented innovative and sustainable mobility solutions and state-of-the-art drive technologies on an exhibition area covering 10,000 square meters. TruckSymposium: Demands for climate-friendly road freight transportOn Friday, around 120 representatives from politics, business, administration, and associations discussed the future of climate-friendly road freight transport at the 18th TruckSymposium organized by ADAC Mittelrhein and TÜV Rheinland. The focus was on alternative drive systems such as HVO100, electric trucks, and bio-LNG, the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG), and the ongoing shortage of parking spaces for trucks. The experts agreed that the transformation can only succeed with reliable political framework conditions, less bureaucracy, and targeted investments in charging infrastructure, secure parking spaces, and alternative fuels. In order to achieve the climate targets by 2030, politicians must invest more and be open to new technologies. Companies are ready; now it is up to the politicians. Truck Grand Prix Job Expo for career startersThe Truck Grand Prix Job Expo in the ring°boulevard was once again a meeting place for career starters, aspiring professional drivers, people interested in logistics, and companies from the region. The stands of freight forwarders and logistics service providers provided opportunities for many personal discussions and interesting insights into training opportunities and career prospects.“The triad of the ADAC Truck Grand Prix, consisting of motorsport, trade fair, and festival, is unique in Europe. We are very grateful for the enormous response and are already looking forward to the next edition in 2026,” said Georg Fuchs, Managing Director of ETRA Promotion GmbH, summing up the event on a positive note. The 39th International ADAC Truck Grand Prix will take place at the Nürburgring from July 10 to 12, 2026.
